On the afternoon of January 8, 2019, Tuesday, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg held a New Year reception for members of the parliament and members of the government at Luxembourg Grand Ducal Palace and received new year greetings of the guests. |
Maria Thérésa est sublime dans cette toilette et ce ton vert émeraude est très beau.
ReplyDeleteLa tenue n'est pas flatteuse pour sa morphologie !
ReplyDeleteUsing the word 'morphology' when you mean something else is just plain rude.
DeleteD'accord avec vous.
DeleteTo anonymous 3:26. Please don´t get triggered, nothing about that comment was rude. Words that are similar in different languages don´t necessarily have the same meaning, or the same connotations, even if they clearly are related. In French, 'morphologie' is an perfectly neutral term and the natural choice of word to express what the commentator wanted to say.
DeleteVanessa, merci pour votre rectification !!! ;-)))
DeleteOh dear.... what happened to u MT ? Still hungover from new year celebrations?
ReplyDeleteI do not like anything about this style. Better luck next time.
ReplyDeleteNice color; not a good fit. No!
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteOh, dear. Unfortunate and unflattering tacky lounge wear. Escaped from Las Vegas. Crushed velvet should be used sparingly, if at all. Overdone necklace. A miss this time for MT.
ReplyDeleteAgree. It's all wrong on her as it does nothing for her body shape (although I doubt it would look good on anyone). The shiny velvet is the worst part.
DeleteHer hairstyle is not flattering, either, and hasn't been for a while.
I agree about the outfit which makes her look short and dumpy and certainly doesn't flatter her figure. However, I think it is a beautiful colour which she really suits. The jacket might have worked with a plain dress; I'm not sure if these trousers would ever work. In general I think her hairstyle is flattering though it seems to be very severe here.
DeleteWhat a beautiful and elegant ensemble! Exquisite jewelry!
ReplyDeleteWhen you lack a waist it’s best not to emphasize it. Horrid outfit.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like Golden Girls costume for maybe Estelle.
ReplyDeleteI don't dislike the pant suit, it just badly executed, and it doesn't seem well tailored, the pants high up in the waist look more like pajamas, and the jacket doesn't flatter her. Maybe used separately and without the excessive jewelry itcoukd work.
ReplyDeleteMe encanta el color, la chaqueta y las joyas!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful jewelry, but not a fan of this velvet ensemble.
ReplyDeleteLove the colour, in particular for the jacket. However, it doesn't look great- it would be more flattering with different trousers and without the top tucked in. Really not keen on her hair in this scraped back style.
ReplyDeleteThe green in the necklace and the outfit do not flatter each other. Also, I really like when she softens her makeup and her hair. The photo of her at her father in laws birthday was lovely and her hair was softer and more down on the face. Also, the “made up” waist with the pants high like that does not work well with her figure and height.
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful color of the velvet is breathtaking, and the velvet does not look at all tacky to me. The gaudy jewelry, however, does (although I'm sure it is of good quality). Plain gold jewelry, a top that skims the waist, and pants cut more flatteringly, palazzo-style, would have given elegance to the overall look.
ReplyDeleteI'd bet that jade ensemble is worth as much as diamonds ;)
DeleteVelour and soft crushed velvet always reminds me of winter nightgowns; warm and comfortable to wear when lounging around one's home on a snowy evening. And especially this colour (and burgundy). For an evening event to be worn by a Grand Duchess, this looks too informal and shapeless. It's a miss for me.
ReplyDeleteIt was a day-time event not a formal evening event. This event hasn't been extremely formal for several years now, so it is not too informal. The fit isn't great but I like the colour.
DeleteI think I would like the pantsuit if worn by someone taller. She is rather short-waisted, so a blouse tucked into pants just accentuates that. The long chunky necklace shortens her torso even further. The suit may look better on her daughter-in-law, Hereditary GD Stephanie. The color is divine.
ReplyDeleteWould have liked to see this jacket with a black top (not tucked in)and black trousers, lose the large necklace and add a pretty coordinating scarf.
ReplyDeleteOh dear... what happened here? terrible choices all around. Fabric, cut, combination with accessories... Must do better next time (we know she can do so much better). Smile is contagious anyway.
