On December 04, 2018, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hosted a Christmas party at Kensington Palace in London. The party held for families and children of troops from RAF Coningsby and RAF Marham serving in Cyprus. Approximately 7,500 military personnel are currently serving overseas at Christmas. (The Duchess wore a new tartan pleated skirt by EMILIA WICKSTEAD and a new cashmere cardigan by BRORA) |
They look really great.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Natural warmth and genuine kindness for the children and their military parents. Kate’s brilliant light shines through!
DeleteCute and Christmasy.
ReplyDeleteLovey outfit, it fits her well, and she is beautiful as always.
ReplyDeleteLovely and classy ☺
ReplyDeleteLove it! Perfect for a Christmas Party. I love the cardigan, the buttons reflect the white colour of the skirt. Both fit her as a glove.
ReplyDeleteI also love to see that they obviously enjoy it to mingle under guests, chatting, laughing, etc. They look very down-to-earth. Lovely couple!!
Agree!
DeleteChristmasy for sure. But also a bit frumpy-looking. To make it a bit sleeker, an all-black top without that row of buttons had been better. And I would have kept the belt of the original design, in order to hide the non-matching waistlines of top and skirt.
ReplyDeleteWell, I admit that I have been looking at the boots, thinking that perhaps, black pumps and a black tights instead, could have styled the look a bit better.
DeleteLovely, cheery outfit. Fabulous fit.
ReplyDeleteThis tartan skirt looks great on Catherine matter of fact the whole combination looks perfect and the smile? what else would one want. Hope everyone had a good time.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you. Nice and casual and they look happy together.
DeleteGreat outfit - nice couple
ReplyDeleteWonderful look for Catherine! I do love plaid at this time of year. The skirt fits perfectly and the boots are repeat favorites.
ReplyDeleteI really don't like the skirt it looks odd to me. But the happiness comes through the photos.
ReplyDeleteI preferred Mary’s outfit to Catherine’s. Same idea: tartan skirt with black top, but imo Mary looked much better. There’s a lot going on with that skirt from Wickstead. The one from McQueen looked more elegant and didn’t have so many competing design elements (between bright tartan with dense print and narrow pleats and the midi length - too busy for my taste). Mary’s skirt was a pleasure to look at, meanwhile Catherine’s is confusing between so many ‘features’. But she (Catherine) does look happy and genuinely carrying and in the end that’s what matters.
ReplyDeleteJill
Jill, I agree. Mary’s skirt looked better. Catherine’s torso is too long for this look. However she seems sweet and relaxed with the guests, I’m sure they appreciated her grace.
DeleteI think Mary's outfit was a bit better due to the jacket. If Catherine's sweater were just a couple of inches longer, it would be much better and the proportions would look better to me. I do, however, think this skirt is very pretty and Catherine can pull of the longer length since she is so tall. Love the boots with it!!
DeleteI agree! The cashmere sweater looks like it shrunk! A longer top or jacket would have looked fabulous.
DeleteI'll take Kate's tartan any day. I suppose to each his/her own?
ReplyDeleteI agree. I love this skirt, and the boots give it a more youthful and casual look. Yes, the sweater could have been a little longer.
DeleteTimeless tartan skirt, nevertheless fashionable and black leather boots and black cardigan meet casual atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteCatherine looks wonderful as she nearly always does...however. I'm with those who would prefer a slightly different top for this outfit. The black is great, but I think a blouse with a somewhat full sleeve -- and without the row of buttons down the front! -- would have been better with the skirt. (Love this length of skirt with the boots, btw!)
ReplyDeleteNice and seasonal - love the tartan. Personally, I think the cardigan needs to be longer because at the moment her torso looks very elongated.
ReplyDeleteI thought so as well. I don't think it would have been necessary to wear a different kind of longsleeve or top. If the cardigan had been just a bit longer, it would have looked even better.
DeleteLove both of their outfits. Bit if I could wish for one thing it would be for the cardigan to add on 10 cm, otherwise perfect. Daniel, look and learn on how to dress casually for an event!
ReplyDeleteYour comment about Daniel is spot on!
DeleteNo me agradan esos botones blancos.. debieron estar cubiertos
