On December 5, 2018, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain attended a concert commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Spanish Constitution at National Auditorium in Madrid. (The Spanish Constitution was approved by the Spanish people in a referendum on 6 December 1978. 91.81% of voters supported the new constitution) |
I don't know what but something is wrong with this dress
ReplyDeleteAgree..
DeleteLooks like the dress is strangling her..
DeleteAgree, but whatever it is, it's on the top. May be the different shades of blue of the lace and the dress. The lace looks like a patch.
DeleteAsk Queen Sofia. The dress is hers
DeleteNice dress, but is it showing a little bit too much? maybe.
ReplyDeleteShowing nothing, this is called an illusion, it has flesh color lining, it's often used on the cleavage, back and lining on formal dresses.
DeleteNo, she does not show anything, it is fake, no skin.
DeleteThere is a nude underlayer that covers the cheast area, if you see carefuly.
DeleteNice dress but showing too much. Doesn't seem at ease on the last picture.
DeleteGreat colour, bad cut, terrible choice of lace front which looks downright tacky
ReplyDeleteThe dress fits and flares perfectly, and the illusion lace adds the creative touch that can be found in most of her looks. The curly hair frames her face for a softer look. More importantly though, there is such a lost look about her at this event. In pic #4 she holds her purse to her chest with her head and eyes cast downward. Be comforted...some of us see a a person who is engaged at her acts and is a caring mother.
ReplyDeleteIn total agreement with your last sentence!!
DeleteThis is a fashionblog
DeleteYes, this is a fashion blog where many people, many times have stated their personal feelings regarding a royal and yes, she does seem to be a caring mother.
DeleteY???
DeleteYou prefer Begoña for any reason, right??
DeleteThere is a lot more sewing or design on top half of the dress if one looks closely. The fabric has delicate pleats and the different levels of the lace at the neck is unique. The lace insert does not leave anyone indifferent but it is amazing that women have the most prudish reaction. At the end of the day it is just a dress, and there are no uniforms assigned to queens.
DeleteLetizia looks lovely although the deep/wide see-thru décolletage is a bit risque, in my opinion. But the color looks great on her, her hair is very soft and feminine, and makeup flawless, and jewelry tasteful. But does anyone know why she never wears her wedding ring?
ReplyDeleteIn Spain most of people do not wear the wedding ring nowadays, it is outdated. You can choose, it is not mandatory. Also she does not like rings in general.
DeleteIt is indeed a beautiful ensemble. What strange question, almost an invasion of personal privacy. A simple reason could be that it was tarnished, sent out to be cleaned and what @1:12 says.
DeleteIn my country, more husbands are wearing the wedding rings than wives.
DeleteHow about your country?
Thanks Angie
DeleteBeautiful hair and makeup! Gorgeous dress! The lace is a different look, but I do not think it shows too much, no parts shown, not even cleavage. It is a bit daring without being trashy. What a lovely couple both in navy, nice!
ReplyDeleteToo froo-froo for my taste. Busy dress and fussy hair style with too many curls.
ReplyDeleteDon't like the dress nor her hair this time.
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteAttention Gentlemen, this is how a men's suit should look and fit! (Some Royals should watch and learn...)
ReplyDeleteAbout the Queen's dress: it is beautiful in colour and style, but something is not right. Maybe it fits not perfectly over the waist, or no bra?
Her hair is beautiful, the colour is wonderful, and it fits perfect. I love this dress, but the lace on the front is very daring... if not too much. Of course it is lined and not completely see-through, just like with the dress of Meghan's official engagement pictures, but it is still risky. Some people will love it, but people will also say this is too much. Too sexy or tacky.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure this was a good choice.
Love the colour and style, the lace V is a bit too big for my personal taste but she wears it well. Her hair looks lovely here.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is not appropriate for Queen to wear in public. And she has the look as though her feet are killing her. Why doesn't she wear more comfortable and stylish shoes?
ReplyDeleteVirginia, Letizia is not "showing" anything. She is completely covered because the lace is lined with nude illusion. As for her shoes, it is a matter of personal taste. I can't imagine what you would consider more stylish--I hope not a lower heel. She is very stylish, and well made shoes can be very comfortable. I understand some women have trouble wearing high heels, but for those that don't, they are the perfect choice.
DeleteThis one is fail.
DeleteNice color, tacky dress
ReplyDeleteI like Letizia very much - but what was she thinking here? The dress looks like a nighty. It is vulgar, especially in her position!
ReplyDeleteAgree. She often takes fashion risks but this is low-class. It could have flesh-colored fabric but it looks like its see through & is revealing or implying to reveal what should only be for her husband. Hope she makes wiser choices in the future.
DeleteWhat position? President's wife is eager to be the First Lady and she wears edgier clothes. Spain is,NOT UK.
DeletePOSITION?? she is the first lady, and President's wife wants to be..
DeleteI agree.
DeleteEine sehr attraktive Königin !!
ReplyDeleteI like the dress, it's not my favorite but I like specially the color.
ReplyDeleteAir and make up are perfect and also the rings looks very nice as complement.

Wow! I think this is the 3rd time Letizia has worn navy blue and wowed since September. I think people here have a good eye. On the lace collar, the center piece covering L's throat is shorter and darker/tightly knit. The lace scallop on the side of her neck is taller and a looser knit/more airy tatting, however lace is described. Thanks for all the photos, I too, was looking to see if the lace was lined all the way to the neck.
DeleteThanks again for all your positive comments Angie
ReplyDeleteA true groundbreaking moment for her. @3:54 classic..make sure that the last comment is an unfavorable one
ReplyDeleteOh, a dress of Queen Sofia and it's pretty; because the owner of this dress is Sofia I can not believe the amount of offensive messages about the queen emeritus to have that dress ... because I guess that everything that has been told to Letizia to wear it, is told to Sofia
