On the third day of their working visit to Rome, on November 8, 2018, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark visited the Vatican City, and were received by Pope Francis at the Vatican. After the Vatican visit, the Crown Couple visited a children’s hospital called Hospital Bambino Gesu. During the visit, the Crown Prince Couple toured the hospital and met with some of the patients. |
beautiful! i love it when royals keep to the vatican dress code (even though some call it old-fashioned). she looks amazing
ReplyDeleteShe would look elegant and charming even wearing a garbage bag
ReplyDeleteAn Italian haute couture garbage bag lol
DeleteDignified, yet efficient.
ReplyDeletePerfection!!!

ReplyDeleteYes, and like grand duchess Maria Teresa and princess Charlene, who can wear white dresses and a lace veil, if that's the word, almost look very bridal
And Letizia and Mathilde of Belgium. El Papa Francisco has lowed the protocol, veil is not mandatory. Now they can wear a suit, back in the day it was almost a nun dress.
DeleteAnd Queen Mathilde and Queen Letizia too
DeleteAgreed. Some traditions shouldn’t change. You can respect a dress code tradition and still show your own style. Mary seems alright with embracing everything (I understand she learned Danish in a record time! good for her! maybe she can give Charlene some tips). I believe Mary’s respectfulness is remarkable.

Not sure Charlene would find Danish that useful in Monaco. 😊
DeleteLol
DeleteDanish, probably not. But she could make an effort and finally learn French. Just saying.

Agree!
DeleteMary dressed very appropriate .
ReplyDeleteA meeting with the Pope is not an occasion for high fashion, but instead for decent and appropriate attire and Mary ticks all those boxes here and then some. I'm glad that she chose to wear the traditional veil/mantilla instead of a hat, or a hat+veil as many do. It is simple and sincere.
ReplyDeletePerfection. I, too, appreciate that Mary honored the traditional Vatican dress code. Pure respect.
ReplyDeleteVery nice black coat , outfit and veil. Just as the protocol called for. Mary looked great. I like it she shows respect for the Vatican dress code.
ReplyDeleteThe video of the meeting was lovely - the Crown Princely couple were so dignified, so respectful, just beautiful.
