| Yesterday, on October 31, 2018, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima attended the meeting of the Council of State, held at the Council Hall of Binnenhof building in The Hague. The meeting was held on the occasion of retirement of Vice President Piet Hein Donner. The Council of State makes recommendations to the government and parliament about legislations and administration and is the highest general administrative judge in the country. The King is the President of the Council of State but rarely attends the meetings, and Vice President chairs the meetings. The Queen is a member of the Council of State. ReplyDeletehm the top is ok, at least for those who like it! Trousers and hat look quite strange to me, and wearing such gloves with a rather casual outfit is strange as well.

ReplyDeleteLike the hat and the bracelet...that is about all, sadly. Top and pants make her look big and the gloves are odd with short sleeves.

ReplyDeleteThis top is fantastic, it would look terrific with a pencil skirt, but combined with the pants is a disaster. Every piece separately could work ( with the exception the peep-toe shoes, that need to be thrown away) but all together, it simply don't work.

DeleteShe looks fine mostly to me but not sure those are the right trousers for this. I do like the top and the hat. And of course, she always looks pleased to be at these events which is great to see.

DeleteShe looks like she has stepped out of a gym, with a towel thrown over her shoulder and the hem on the pants remind me of a flood, when we have to roll them up not to get wet! LOL

ReplyDeleteI prefer the outfit on the model to what Maxima is wearing, although it is far too casual for her. Her pants are nice with the wide cuff, but she should be wearing a closed, pointed toe shoe. I don't like the top with the pants because she is adding volume to her body. I would prefer to see her wear a close fitting blouse instead. I don't see how the hat was necessary here. I think her gloves are lovely, and don't mind the length of the gloves with the length of the sleeve, but again, they are not necessary with her outfit.

ReplyDeleteI had to look twice, the pants looks like jeans but I knew she would not wear that to a function. Her jewelry is always amazing.
