D&G is shown off again. Very nice lace dress, also love the lilac shoes and bag. Mary looks fantastic again.
ReplyDeleteNice dress with bad earrings, diamonds would have been better
ReplyDeleteThe earrings are way too much. I think diamond and pearl drop earrings would have been better. Personally I don't like chandelier earrings on anyone, with any outfit.
DeleteAgree. Everything is perfect in her look except the earrings, diamond would have been great .
DeleteShe certainly looks good, but I wouldn´t have chosen any of these things.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is too long on Mary (looks much better at knee-length like on the model), and I don´t like the long sleeves. A wall of black. The hairstyle ages her, the earrings are too long. It´s all weighing her down visually - it needs to breathe more. I get that the purple shoes and bag are meant to lighten things up, but I don´t "feel" that colour combination. Looks random to me.
Spot on! I'm on board with everything you've said.
DeleteRoyalty fan
DeleteYes Vanessa S, I agree, when her hair is styled in a bun/chignon, she looks 40 years older, and that is almost "unfair," because she is such a beautiful person
Grt dress. Somehow Mary can lift off any lace fatigue. But yes, would have preferred a solid diamond stud.
ReplyDeleteLovely dress and, have to disagree with Anon 3:34. I think the earrings are fab
ReplyDeleteThis dress fits her like a glove. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteShe looks amazing!! She is classy and on trend. This is exactly how D&G styles these dresses. I'm loving how the princesses/queens are stepping away from the traditional notions of how royalty should dress. I'm thinking Princess Margaret and QE2 et al. took the same risks moving on from Victorian dress styles and now they are too. Refreshing...
ReplyDeleteA great look! Not usually a fan of these lace dresses, but I like this on Mary and the purple adds an edginess. Like the earrings and the below knee dress length on the model and Mary.
ReplyDeleteMary looks amazing. Her dress fits beautifully. I like the pop of purple in the shoes and bag.
ReplyDeleteCP Mary is a stylish woman, but of her outfit, I only like her lilac shoes, this lace dress is not very different from many others, fairly ordinary … but an expensive cocktail lace dress - and I agree diamond earrings would have been a better choice, these look too much as bling -bling!
ReplyDeleteEach detail in this combination is beautiful - but together it's a unfortunate mixture. Black and purple for me this time don't make harmoniuos feeling and earings don't belong in this look. It's not a disaster, of course, but Mary has proven that she can make much more tasteful presence all together.
ReplyDeleteMary looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteJ'adore la robe, les chaussures et le sac mais, j'ai de sérieuses réserves quant aux boucles d'oreilles.

ReplyDeleteMary looks perfect!!! She’s naturally beautiful and effortlessly classy. Love the entire look which Mary carries off so well!
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Certainly the wrong match between so much lace and soooo much intricate bling happening here. One doesn’t know where to look first (and then one’s head hurts). These kind of earrings require a much more streamlined look.
ReplyDeleteLike others said, I am also in agreement that we have seen more than enough lace dresses on royals lately. This one in particular it’s been worn before (Kate), and D&G have enough very beautiful and different dresses for her to choose from. If she really wanted this particular one, a much lighter shoe colour (but not Kate-like neutral, maybe a bright jewel colour, like fuchsia or emerald green) with a matching (but unfussy) clutch, plus simple studs (not too big either) may have been a way to save it. The way it is styled, it’s a rare miss for me. I am sure she will do better with the next one.

The more I look at the pics, the less I like the dress and the general look. Too strict in spite of the lace, too dark.
ReplyDeleteGreat look. These earrings are very large but wow.
ReplyDeleteA big no for the dress and such big earrings do not fit a midle aged women.
