On October 29, 2018, Crown Princess Mary attended the presentation of Christmas Seal 2018 at Copenhagen City Hall. This year's Christmas seal was designed by Danish cartoonist Peter Madsen. Julemærkefonden (literally "The Christmas Seal Foundation") is a Danish charity and it operates five so-called Christmas seal homes for children with social challenges. It issues an annual Christmas seal to finance its activities. Children residing in Julemærkehemene receives help to get rid of violence and loneliness. At the same time, they receive information about healthy nutrition and exercise to cope with obesity. The Crown Princess is the patron of The Christmas Seal foundation.
