The final day of The Duke and Duchess’ tour took place in Rotorua which is a town set on Lake Rotorua and known for its geothermal activity and Maori culture. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex greeted with a traditional welcome, or powhiri, at Te Papaiouru. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wore traditional Maori cloaks called Korowai during a visit to Te Papaiouru. The Duke and Duchess firstly visited Te Papaiouru Marae for a formal pลwhiri and luncheon held in honour of The Duke and Duchess. |
The Duke and Duchess visited Rainbow Springs to receive information about the centre’s kiwi breeding programme. Kiwi are New Zealand’s national bird and have become increasingly endangered in recent years, and The Duke and Duchess met with conservationists working to protect the species. |
In the afternoon, The Duke and Duchess headed into the city and met with members of the public gathered there. |
The Duke and Duchess then visited Redwoods Treewalk Rotorua. The treewalk is a 700m-long walkway of suspension bridges between 117-year-old Redwood trees. The forest is also the home to a thriving mountain biking community that draws people of all ages to the Redwoods. (The Duke and Duchess returned to Auckland that evening, before departing for London the following day.) |
Nice dress, but use kinda always looks the same to me, ball gowns aside.
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteHer style is Fresh and fashion, she is a new way to show thw monarchy.
ReplyDeleteAgree.
Deletethe blue striped skirt seems to be transparent in certain pictures.. seems odd. I do like that shade of blue on her.
ReplyDeleteI see London, I see France, ...
Deletelol :-D
DeleteThe press is calling it her "Di" moment...
The blue skirt in certain photographer lights, is transparent. Which is totally unacceptable considering this was bespoke. The color is nice.
ReplyDeleteSeriously. I would be so mad if I paid all that money for this beautiful outfit but they didn't get the basics right. Isn't that clothes making 101? She sure connects well with folks. Look how delighted she is with that little girl. Precious!

ReplyDeleteThe blue Givenchy skirt is a huge disappointment. A house like Givenchy should know better than to use a fabric that has the potential to go sheer in bright light.
ReplyDeleteIt's an optical illusion as talked about on other sites
ReplyDeleteNicely all around. Today is the final day. It really was a very long tour. Almost always the same and a bit of different. At the end these tours become a little hallow, too much, but it was nice to see her interact well with the people.
ReplyDeleteWe have seen many beautiful dresses during this trip. I'm sure she has been learning a lot during this trip and she will be great in her new role. Of course I don't know her but according the pictures and videos she seems to be very friendly and social personality. And she is very capable speaker.
ReplyDeleteAgree! Meghan is an enchanting and beautiful woman and has done a very good job. She has a warm interaction with people and I love her distinctive style.
DeleteAn execptional Australien-Tour of a lovely young couple with a baby on the way, congratulations, well done.๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐

DeleteThe casual outfit is fine as her casual clothes always are--unexceptional but serviceable which is what's required. I don't like the shapeless black, navy? dress from the earliest engagement even if it is Stella McCartney and costs a small fortune. Possibly the Maori cloak pulls it out of shape but it does her no favours. I rather like the blue pleated skirt. It's plain but got enough movement and colour to give it an edge.
ReplyDeleteWell done to the Duke and Duchess for completing a tour that was arduous be any standard without Meghan coping with early/mid stage pregnancy into the bargain. While there was a spell of really outstanding dresses in the middle part of the tour, the amazing Oscar de la Renata gown and the blue caped gown worn in Fiji, overall I have personally been disappointed in the majority of the outfits worn. I'm left with an impression of a sea of navy and black with some olive blended in. Perhaps my expectations were too high, thinking of previous royal tours from British and other royal families.
More importantly than the fashion, it was wonderful to see the huge crowds turn out to greet the couple and their evident enjoyment in meeting as many wellwishers as possible. Here's hoping they can get a little rest and relaxation over the next couple of weeks.
I'm really done with this tour now, really need a pause from them.. that was toooo long.
