In the evening of September 13 2018, Crown Princess Mary attended an official dinner in Finlandia Hall in Helsinki. The official dinner celebrated the 100th anniversary of beginning of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Finland. Both Danish and Finnish companies and organizations attended the dinner together with representatives from the government. The Crown Princess is making a 2 day visit to Finland, relating to trade. Wow! Love all of it. Beautiful skirt with elegant top and shoes. She may still be the "crown princess" but tonight she really looks like a queen!
ReplyDeleteSorry , but Denmark has Queen Margrethe, who is and looks like a queen, Mary in all her designer dresses looks more as a fashion model to me.
DeleteBut perfect for the job as a modern Crown Princess in 2018.
?? Looks like a Queen???
DeleteIn complete agreement with first comment. A queen should look elegant, dignified, and classy. IMO Mary's look has all of these qualities.
DeleteAll Royal Queens, Princesses and Duchess can go to CP Mary for Fashion lessons, She is always dressed perfect.
ReplyDeleteyes I agree they can all go to her for... (Except Letizia, the Britisch Duchesses, they have very much their own style)
DeleteHow can that be? Is she spending more time on it? Difficult to understand whether it reflects her own personality or whether she gets better advice. I think her own choices.
I thoroughly disagree with Vanessa her below. The fabric is original, classy, and of course her morphology allows her to wear that. I don't think it the same as Victoria (hers is a lighter fabric in my view) but yes similarities; and that dress is the worst Victoria has! The fact is just that Mary can allow herself what would not fit for others.
Yes, she is perfect !
DeleteSorry to say, but this looks absolutely terrible. I don´t mind the green as such, but the print is neither floral nor a real pattern, instead reminds me of uncontrolled algae growth. The cut makes the skirt look very bulky, and the material seem so stiff that it doesn´t sit right, let alone move with the person. It´s more lampshade than skirt.
ReplyDeleteI don´t know what I would combine such an awful skirt with (I don´t think it cannot be saved really), but the black accessories don´t work at all. The black looks random with the green-and-silver skirt, the tight top makes the skirt look even bigger, and the textures clash big time.
Victoria also has a skirt or dress made from that fabric, and it looks terrible on her too.
H&M used to be so fun and full of versatile and easy-to-combine items, both casual and formal. Nowadays, it mostly awkward and try-hard stuff that make everyone look like a fashion victim.
Lastly, if that´s a see-through panel in the shoes, then that´s a stupid concept. Who wants to peek at anyone´s squished toes?
These skirts made of a shiny satiny material and pleated to give some volume are 'in' at the moment. Victoria and Mathilde have worn them recently for example. Mary looks great. A silver or white top many have looked better but this is not a disaster. Some designers do take inspiration from nature so algae blooms may be represented here. Lighten up.
DeleteMary is stunningly beautiful here. The skirt is exquisite and positively glows with nature's vivid greens and subtle blues. The full skirt makes Mary's small waist look even slimmer in contrast--brilliant. Her hair is gorgeous and shoes are delicately elegant with the sleek cut outs.
ReplyDeleteMary is wonderful! I love all of it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Mary. She looks wonderful.Love the top very nice neckline.
ReplyDeleteI think Mary should go to Queen Mathilde or Maxima for fashion tips, as 95% of the time is dressed terribly, absolutely no fashion sense at all! Would completely agree with all said Vanessa S. !! well spotted and said!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, contracdictory comments....
DeleteActually, my above comment is for this appearance only. I don´t want to make an overall judgement on her style. And if I did, it would be a lot more positive, because I think that Mary usually dresses way better than this.
DeleteCP Mary as always looks elegant & engaged .
ReplyDeleteShe is filling in for her husband after his back surgery.
Yet again a perfect outfit.
ReplyDeleteDie rok is perfekt voor haar maar als je 5 kg dikker bent zal die rok je dik maken, alleen voor heel magere smalle vrouwen.
DeleteSimply stunning from head to toe! Her top is just right with the volume of the skirt. And the skirt is just the perfect length for the occasion. Class!
ReplyDeleteShe looks radiant and is absolutely best dressed regularly of the bunch we follow.
ReplyDeleteGot to Maxima for fashion tips? Surely you're kidding!
ReplyDeleteI agree! In my opinion Mary is the most elegant of all the royals.
DeleteI actually own the dress-this skirt is bespoke as the one in the collection was shorter. It is a very heavy, stiff fabric but up close, it's absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI also like it of course, Mary seems to be born for the role of a future queen!
ReplyDeleteBut I have a question to the fashion experts here: What do you think about the photo with the model wearing that H&M-dress? Why do they combine a dress like that with a T-Shirt like that? Too me it looks strange! (But I am no fashion expert.)
Stunning! What an elegant, feminine healthy, happy looking young lady... and a Royal.
ReplyDeleteDreadful !
ReplyDeleteI cannot get used to these skirts. I think they are plain ugly and do no one any justice. It could be a design of Maxima's beloved Natan. Even when there is nothing left i would not wear this type of skirt, i rather go in my undies ha ha. But nevertheless i've seen such outfit more worse than on Mary here and the black top looks great on her.
ReplyDeleteMary is a pretty woman and her long thin build allows her to look great in most outfits. That doesn’t mean that all her outfits are equally flattering. This particular silhouette is still ‘in’ (although likely on its last legs) so I will say she is on trend and she can pull it off. Way better than most other royals (e.g.: Countess of Wessex). That doesn’t mean this particular skirt or its combination with the black top is a hit. Not for me, anyway. The skirt looks cheap, mostly because not everyone can do well this cut. There is a big difference if you compare it to a Carolina Herrera skirt (she often does this type of silhouette) or one from DvF. Like Vanessa, I am going to say it’s also not just the poor cut of the skirt. The top makes the skirt stand out and to me it adds emphasis to how unprofessional the tailoring is.
ReplyDeleteI fully understand and wholeheartedly support the need to bring more awareness to our choices and move towards a sustainable future. To me that doesn’t mean buying more cheap outfits, in particular because often they are made in factories with unimaginable conditions for workers, but rather re-wearing some of the good quality ones. And Mary has already so many of those. That would be the right choice if one wants to support less mindless consumption that has become the norm. And (last comment in a long post) these H&M dresses don’t look good on Victoria either. I think we can all agree with that.
Horrible. The top looks like it'll slip off her shoulders and, depending on how she stands, it is crooked. The skirt looks stiff. Maybe it's the lighting, but her makeup/lipstick are too severe for my taste. This just doesn't cut it for me. Sometimes she tries too hard and it just doesn't work.
ReplyDeleteIs that the same 'Anonymous', who write the comments with intervals …… just asking ;-)
ReplyDeleteMany people write under the name "Anonymous"". It's getting hard to understand each opinion since it is often contracdictory.
DeleteWelch ein wunderbares Outfit. So Grace K., so Fünfziger, so Christian D.! She knows how to do it! Grandios!!!
ReplyDeleteMille C. no it's not! Lots of us don't like Mary's style or outfit combinations which are always dark, ugly and not flattening at all! Doesn't mean that if 1 person under 'anonymous' is necessarily ALL the 'anonymous' people that left comments.
ReplyDeleteAnd YES, I AGREE MATHILDE is the BEST DRESSED ROYAL with FASHION SENSE, ALWAYS GLAMOUOUS AND GOOD LOOKING IN WHAT SHE WEARS!! YES, mary go to MATHILDE for lessons, my opinion too!
I disagree about Mathilde - her clothes are often badly fitted and tailored with the waist sitting in the wrong place and her bouffant hairstyles can appear matronly.
DeleteThey all have good days and bad days.
Fantastic skirt, gorgeous outfit!
ReplyDeleteStunning! Gorgeous skirt, beautiful colour and style. I would love to see CP Mary in the dress, she would look magnificent.
ReplyDeleteI disagree. Mary is by far the best dressed and the most elegant of them all.
