Queen Margrethe of Denmark hosted a state dinner at Christiansborg Palace, held in honour of President Emmanuel Macron of France and First Lady Brigitte Macron. Among the attendees of the state dinner, there were Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie, Princess Benedikte, goverment representatives, Danish Parliament's presidium, French delegation and representatives of chosen companies.(Crown Princess Mary wore a modified Lasse Spangenberg dress) |
As always, Mary is looking gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Mary radiates a strong light! She is always immaculate and carries herself beautifully.
DeletePrincess Marie’s gown is the best!
ReplyDeletePretty dress but don’t care for the color and the lack of a necklace.
DeleteThe tiara of princess Marie looks different.
ReplyDeleteHas Marie worn the tiara of Princess Elisabeth of Denmark? Because of the blue stones?
Or does she own a new tiara?
People have been saying online thats probably a private tiara given by Joaquim on ocasion of their 10th anniversary.
DeleteYes, this is the first time you see Marie with this tiara, very beautiful by the way. I don't remember seeing it before in the Danish royal house, but maybe it has previously belonged to Princess Elisabeth, who died earlier this year?
DeleteThanks a lot.
DeleteHoping for a close up of Marie's new tiara.
Princess Marie's new tiara is now to be seen in close- up at Paris MATCH Royal blog. It is incredibly beautiful with its sapphires.

The queen looks beautiful and so does Benedikte.
ReplyDeleteI like Mary´s choice of black-and-white gown with the blue sash, yet the black sheer one-shoulder detail (seemingly extending into a shoulder train) is odd. It totally looks like it got added to the dress, and doesn´t belong.
Marie´s dress is nice, but it needs necklace, and the two orders are pinned to her dress in rather random places (applies to Joachim´s orders as well - I don´t think that´s how it´s done?)
Brigitte Macron looks ok and her dress meets all the formal requirements, but she just never really manages to look truly elegant and polished. Her outfit would also pass as a mock 70s disco frock gone space-futuristic. The silver panels making the bend in her armpits are not a successful design element.
Madame Macron looks like she’s tucked her hair back like she’s going to do chores. Not polished at all!
Delete"70s disco frock gone space-futuristic" - ha ha ha! That is so true, Vanessa! She looks like some "Star Trek"-Character!
DeleteJust an impressison, I may be wrong, if one looks at the details of Mrs Macron's gown it gives the impression it is the same one worn in Washington, redecorated with different material ??
DeleteHaha, it reminds me of the outfits worn by the Mom in “The Jetsons”. If it gives her confidence then good for her but it’s an epic fail IMO.
DeleteMarie for the win here.
ReplyDeleteI agree! She looks really nice and I like her tiara!
DeleteBenedikte is the b
ReplyDeleteBenedikte is the best for me. Marie, the first lady and the queeb look too doll. And Mary didnt look that great for me.
ReplyDeleteAs I can see this is the day where we fully disagree on almost everything probably.
Deletewow new Tiara for Ps. Marie.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks ravishing.
Ps. Benedikte as fabulous as always.
A little intrigued by CP Mary's choice can't help to think the midnight tiara or wedding tiara will better suit the dress..if she's that determined to wear that dress that is.
What was Brigitte thinking when she chose that dress? What a disappointment!
ReplyDeleteMarie looks amazing. The dress is perfect for her petite figure. All the Danish ladies are elegant. I am disappointed by Mme Macron again. She looks almost Kardashian-like. What was she thinking? I am sure it’s an expensive Vuitton ‘creation’ - but for a French lady (the First Lady, in particular) this has no class whatsoever. At least she isn’t wearing a mini ...
ReplyDeleteMarie looks great. I don't care very much for any of the other outfits, although they look correct. Mme Macron is a big fail.
ReplyDeleteMme. Macron is always a fail, mostly because she wants to look younger by wearing mini dresses or skirts. To me, her wanting to look younger only emphasizes that she is older, so she might as well dress normally, although I can't see her in a flowered dress, for instance.
DeleteWell said!
DeleteI don't like Mrs. Macrons dress this time, but I don't think she's a fail all the time.
DeleteI saw a lot of nice dresses on her, too .
Yes, and with her new tiara she is wearing the colors of the French flag.
DeleteAs MaryT said - a day to disagree!
ReplyDeleteIn order:
1) the queen, just because ......
2) Marie, although I agree the brooch orders are weirdly placed
3) Benedikte- always elegant
4) Mme Macron - I like her dress. I'd wear it! She gets a lot of unnecessary criticism.
5) Mary - really not good. A summer dress tarted up with that shoulder thing, and not matching with formal jewels and a tiara! What was she thinking?
Mime Macron looks good, she has got a great figure. The updo is perfect for this occasion, after all she isn‘t a crowned head.
ReplyDeleteMarie, Mary and the Queen look fantastic! I love the dresses and the tiaras a lot!
ReplyDeleteI really don't like that dress from Mrs Macron. It looks way to casual for this occasion.
Also I don't like Mr. Macrons suit, It looks a bit strange?
La reina y Benedikte muy elegantes
ReplyDeleteAll the ladies look lovely. Marie's dress is classic, Mary's has some uniqueness with the black panel over the one shoulder becoming a train in the back; pretty. For me, the silver trim on Mrs. Macron's dress is too wide, and there is something about the way the fabric is gathered on Benedikte's shoulders that I don't like. 10th anniversary, no wonder Marie and Joachim are obviously happy in all the photos. The Queen is wearing mourning colors and still looks great. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteQueen Margrethe's gown, with its rich, glowing shade of purple and sheer sleeves, is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteQueen Margrethe's gown is beautiful and so becoming on her!! They all look beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteIf imitation is the greatest form of flattery, Mary should be honoured as Marie's gown is almost identical to a very notable dress Mary wore very early on in her life in Denmark. While Marie look very nice, her version doesn't compare at all to the original.
ReplyDeleteI love Princess Benedike's gown, Brigitte Macron looks lovely and I really like Mary's gown with the blue sash and it is a particularly nice touch adding the tiara, considering its origins.
Was President Macron wearing a morning suit to the state dinner ?
