On August 12, Princess Ayako of Japan officially got engaged to Kei Moriya with a traditional ceremony held in Tokyo. The traditional engagement ceremony is called "Nosai no Gi". After the engagement ceremony, the couple went to the Imperial Palace and declared their loyalty to Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko. Imperial Household Agency released photos of the couple, taken on July 20 and August 5. The daughter of late Prince Takamado and Princess Hasako, Princess Ayako works as a research assistant at Josai International University. The wedding ceremony will take place at Meiji Jingu Shrine in Tokyo on October 29. |
