Today is August 3 and Charlotte Casiraghi celebrates her 32nd birthday. Charlotte Marie Pomeline, better known as Charlotte Casiraghi was born on August 3, 1986 at Princess Grace Hospital. Charlotte Casiraghi is the daughter of Princess Caroline of Hanover and the late Stefano Casiraghi. Happy birthday to you, Charlotte Casiraghi |
How time flies! I wish her well and hope her baby arrives safely. She lost her Father at such a young age. I feel for her.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure she has learned to deal with that these 28 years. Sad, yes, but that was her normal; and she had her uncle and grandfather.
DeleteYou can't possibly know that she is not still affected even after 28 years. No one can replace a parent, and I assure you losing a parent at a young age has a lasting effect.
DeleteLosing a parent and not having a Father in childhood has a profound effect. Charlotte also spent many childhood years with a devastated Mother. Caroline retreated to the country with the children in isolation for years after Stefano's death. Due to extreme stress, Caroline lost her hair for a while. Later, there were her Mother's boyfriends and 2nd husband, none of whom lasted, none were a Father. This also has an effect.
DeletePine; was not Ernst August her third husband, first was Philippe Junot, second Stefano.
DeleteYes, Blondini - Ernst was Caroline's 3rd husband.
DeleteBefore him she was involved with actor Vincent Lindon for 5 years.
Oh, gosh, yes, that's right. I completely forgot about Philippe Junot. They did not have children together, mercifully. And I remember years of seeing mention of Vincent Lindon.
DeleteAgree with you Pine. All 3 children were so young when Stefano died.
ReplyDeletePienso lo mismo que "Chardonn8r"y "Pino":a veces ni con terapia se supera esa ausencia
ReplyDeleteI did not understand it then and I don't understand it now: why on earth would a father of three young children take part in such a dangerous sport. He already had an accident three weeks before. Many pilots died that year. Speed Boat Racing is not even a sport it is a game of life and death, a very expensive game of the rich and beautiful who seem to think they are a species that is immortal not like the commoners. They are not. If it was my husband, I would have asked him to stop with this immature game and take responsibility for me, for our family , for our beautiful children we are blessed with. Play golf instead! But then again their marriage was not as happy as the legend wants to paint it. The had both love affairs outside. There are many ways to abandon your child. Death is just one of them.
ReplyDeleteBeth whilst I agree with your point about the boat racing I don't agree about their infidelity.
DeleteI have never thought that their marriage was perfect but as a long time observer of the family that is an observation I don't agree with.
Whether they did or not, the marriage was essentially a happy one, with its high and low points like most marriages, and Caroline was devastated at his death.
Yes, Franny, I do remember being shocked by photos of Caroline in the immediate years after Stafano's death. There were not many photos as she retreated to rural France. But it was clear she was devastated. I felt very sad for her.
DeleteDoes this woman ever smile? She is absolutely the most sullen "royal" (she is not royal, not even princely) I have seen in a long time.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte seems to have a more serious personality than many. She is interested in philosophy and has started a formal group to discuss it. She does represent a fashion house but this seems to be to make her own income. She does not appear in photos of the latest parties on a regular basis, unless connected with a charity like Monaco's Rose Ball...and she does not go every year.
DeleteWhat a beauty! This photo is the cover of a Vogue-issue.
