Members of The Royal Family then moved to the balcony at Buckingham Palace to view a fly past display featuring 100 aircraft. |
Wow Meghan. What a beautiful dress. I´m glad she chose off-white shoes in order to avoid looking too somber. But to make it perfect and to tie in the shoes better, I would have liked the off-white colour to be picked up in some other little accessory (purse? belt? brooch?). Anyway, she looks stunning.
ReplyDeleteI am equally stunned by Kate´s, Camilla´s and Sophie´s looks. So very beautiful, all three of them. Interesting brooch on Kate (though it looks better from afar than close-up). Anne´s not bad either, but those brown gloves and the weird fastening of her jacket are distracting/disturbing.
The queen. Clearly outshone by everyone else, and that´s despite the colours of her outfit. Nice colours as such, both individually, but not necessarily together. I understand the turquoise accents as the blue fabric has a turquoise shine to it, but the way they´re combined is not the best. Also, that kind of fabric is best used in evening gowns rather than coats, I think.
Excellent family effort though.
Not a bad display today. Where are they going to be tomorrow?
DeleteVanessa S the brooch Catherine is wearing was a gift for her as patron Air Cadets which she took over in 2015. Very appropriate to wear it today.
DeleteIs Meghan's dress black or a deep navy blue? It looks different in different photos. Catherine looks elegant but tired.
ReplyDeleteI think navy
DeleteNavy blue.
DeleteThank you, Linda and Vanessa, for color help. Meghan's dress looks very Dior/new look from the 1950s. Very Audrey Hepburn. I love it.
DeleteIridescent fabric of the Queen's coat is lovely.
Did no one tell Meghan she's not supposed to wear black? The dress is gorgeous otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI think it's actually a very dark blue, something we call midnight-blue over here.
DeleteThat dress looks navy to me.
Deleteit's navy blue
DeleteNow that I look at the close-up of her hat in photo #11, it clearly looks deep blue against her black hair.

DeleteThen you have to tell the entire royal community that they shouldn't wear black even QE http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/12/07/article-1233947-07831D47000005DC-0_634x702.jpg
DeleteThis is the best outfit Meghan has worn so far. The dress is so so pretty. Meghan looked elegant and lady like. I love it.
ReplyDeleteAgree, well said Meghan "is so so pretty" Prince Harry can be proud of
Deleteher/his fashion choice :-) although she is a feminist.
What do you mean with "although she is a feminist"? Do you think a man cannot be proud of his wife being a feminist? Or do you think feminists make bad fashion choices?

DeleteOne more try.
DeleteLogos, Ethos and Pathos are not seperable. Fashion is as well a way to communicate.
Being a feminist or being black, or beeing poor is a state of mind. It does not have to do with DNA or the colour of your skin.
It is a social category and a social predicament. The moral duty is to rebel.
A lot of people, rich or poor feel directionless displeasure. The questtion of our time is: What is producing a fairer world and a
more democratic world. Knowing the price of everything and value nothing is boring.
Seems that Kate is very tired. Three very young children that means not enough of sleep…I like Meghans look, it reminds me to Gracia Patricia of Monaco and suit her very well. Queen Elizabeth as always stunning. The other ladies are stunnig too.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. Especially Catherine looks pretty tired. But she wears a beautiful dress, beautiful hairdo and hat.
DeleteThey all look lovely - nice to see Catherine there. I like all the outfits especially Sophie's and I like that icy blue that Catherine is wearing. I like Meghan's dress and hat very much but she stands out a bit because it's quite a dark colour and the other ladies are in lighter colours. But I love the slightly vintage vibe to it. Camilla looks lovely as usual.
ReplyDeleteAgree about Sophie, she once again looks stunning (I remind the green dress last week)and so does Duchess Camilla with her beautiful, warm smile.
DeleteMeghan and Sophie look awesome!! So as all the other royal ladies.
ReplyDeletemagnifique Meghan ainsi que KateTrès jolies toilettes.
ReplyDeleteRoyalty fan
ReplyDeleteOh Meghan looked the part again, and Dior by that. I hope that she will start to love jewelry, a string of pearls would've rounded off her appearance, nevertheless, she still looked stunning! I just don't understand, how can Edward wear full military uniform, even with medals, and he has never been in the Armed Forces??
Many times royal princes wear their uniforms for ceremonial purposes. For example, the Duke of Gloucester also wears uniforms and he was never in the armed forces either, but he is the royal patron of a number of regiments. So is the case with Prince Edward. He is the royal patron of several regiments too. As for the medals, many of those medals are commemorative medals, such as for the Queen's birthday or jubilees. The men wear those along with the ones that were given to them for service in the military.
DeleteMEghan ravissante ! Quel plaisir pour les yeux... Kate toujours aussi élégante mais je me lasse de ces robes manteau
ReplyDeleteMeghan looks like a Hollywood Starlet! Kate, well, looks like herself you know, same coatdress in different colours (its like she gets discount if she buys same dress in different colours....whatever,booring)
ReplyDeleteFirst I wanted to say: Agree, but than I had a glose look on the pics ofthe Daily Mail. More perspectives have changed my mind. My favourite pic is now
Deletethat one with Queen Elisabeth and Duchess Meghan standing on the balcony.
Queen Elizabeth looks lovely in navy and teal today. The light blue on Duchess Catherine is very pretty, classic style, nice! For me, the best dressed is Countess Sophie. The subtle pattern on her well-fitted white dress along with her hat are just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe ladies look lovely. I am sure that Meghan will get some negative remarks for the dark dress but she looks great. Looks like Catherine is as thin as ever.
ReplyDeleteThey look all so posh and beautiful. Especially Catherine, Meghan (little dark maybe but chic), Camilla and Sophie. They had all also lovely hats. That is something only English can do so well!
ReplyDeleteMeghan has finally got, no more messy hair and over sized clothing 🙌💃
ReplyDeleteKatherine has worn this same dress but in different colors. A little boring. Meghan in another boat neck. Seems to be her signature style. Needs some jewelry.
ReplyDeleteKate and Meghan both stunningly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see the Duchess Catherine twice now this week even though she is still on maternity leave. Some may criticize the same style of dress again. Yes, we have seen this style twice before. The first was white at Charlotte's christening, the second was yellow at Harry's wedding, and now in an ice blue. But I think that it is a good style for her with the wide lapels and fitted bodice. She looks classy and elegant! Her hat is new and goes well with this dress. Nice to also see her back to her healthy weight after Louis's birth. From all reports, she exercises and eats well, and I am sure that being a mom to three children under the age of 5 helps her to stay in shape too. Also, great to see Sophie in such a pretty dress and hat!
ReplyDeleteMust say everyone looked amazing. Some of the Royal Ladies chose white, the Queen blue she is always in style. I must say the Dior dress of Meghan's really stuck out. Dior always above and beyond, a lot of them. Even Anne could make a decade old combo look good. All the men in Uniform looked good.
ReplyDeleteWow Meghan!! What a glamorous dress, love the fit on the top, and the bias cut on the skirt, I know she doesn't seem too keen on jewelry, but perhaps a single strand of pearls or a blue sapphire brooch would've given a spark to the outfit, nevertheless she looks stunning. Kate as usual looks regal and appropriate, but maybe it's time to move a little bit away from the dress/coat. Sophie is another winner, fantastic dress. Is it just me, or Camilla has even wearing the same shoes in the last few events?
ReplyDeleteMeghan looks wonderful in that 50s style dress! She really stands out amongst the more traditional outfits.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to look forward to seeing what she wears.
Catherine wie immer sehr elegant und schön ! Camilla auch elegant für sie und Sophie wird auch jedesmal noch eleganter bei Familien- Ereignissen !!
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing outfit that Meghan wore, Kate is also beautiful and Sophie suits that white dress perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI just have to say I was little surprised that Meghan stood next to Queen on the balcony.
ReplyDeleteshe was behind her
DeleteFor this important event, everyone looked great. Most of the Ladies wore white. Kate looked a little tired. The man of the hour yesterday must have had a not so good night, what kept her up. Meghan's dress looked what a Dior dress looks fantastic. The Queen is always in style need no more to be said.
ReplyDeleteHer Majesty Elizabeth is so on que with her outfit; if you remember it is the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Air Force. Note on the balcony, the blues in Prince Williams And
ReplyDeletePrince Harry's uniforms. Her outfit is not a fashion statement; it is respect.
All ladies looked very nice. My favourite is Megan’s outfit. Kate is rather surprisingly stubborn with the same cuts/styles. I find that bizarre. Also, I can’t say I am particularly enamoured with either Camilla’s or Sophie’s dresses (of course, they both look elegant and quite regal). Camilla’s dress has a cut right above the widest part of the chest, there’s something off putting about that. I find Sophie too stuck with this same silhouette (with variations on colour, neckline and sometimes on sleeves). It’s on trend and most of the outfits are flattering, but it’s a case of too much of a good thing. Plus, if it’s not Wickstead, it’s Suzannah. Too much, IMO. I find Megan the interesting one every time.
ReplyDeleteKate, Meghan and Sophie looks fantastic. Just wish they could stop using these stupid hats even tho Maghans is not to bad.
ReplyDeleteD. Catherine is always p e r f e c t! She has an innate and natural elegance.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you.
DeleteAgree with you.
DeleteShe (Catherine) is always p e r f e c t! She has an innate and natural elegance.
ReplyDeleteMeghan is so beautiful! Glad to see other than Kates dresses. Kate is also beautiful but she often uses the same type of clothes and thats boring.
ReplyDeleteLove Sophie's ensemble, one of her best. Meghan looks stunning in the darkest of dark navy, very, very elegant. Catherine looks very nice too, in an ensemble which would have been a better choice to wear to Harry and Meghan's Wedding in my opinion.
