On July 3, 2018, Spanish Queen Letizia chaired the presentation of Phare Nador project of Women for Africa Foundation (Fundación Mujeres por África), made at Madrid Endesa head office. The Queen is the honorary president of Women for Africa Foundation. Phare Nador is a Hispanic-Moroccan project. That project aims to be a guiding light of knowledge, education, culture and creation of opportunities, which responds to the needs of women, African societies in general and Moroccan society in particular. The project especially focuses on the city of Nador and the Oriental region. |
The queen's outfit today is a bit blah, but her genuine smile and posture rule the day. A worthy cause, which probably relates to her cooperation trips. The older lady in the lace pants and summer tweed ..is all that. Not many women can make lace pants look chic in the daytime. She does...and with seriously high heels. I bow. Honorable mention to the Minister of Defense (red and black) high powered professional dressing done right.
ReplyDeleteThe older lady is María Teresa Fernández de la Vega a very important politician and judge. Unfortunately the other one is not the Minister of Defence, if not Ana Pastor the President of the Congress Deputies.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but the other lady in red and black is the new Minister of Defence.
DeleteSorry, esa es Isabel Celaá, la nueva ministra de educación, q pinta aquí la ministra de defensa, si hablamos de universidades..
Deleteno, es la ministra de Educación y Formación Profesional.
DeleteAnonymous 9:40, you are right, Isabel Celaa is the new Minister of Education, she's very appropriately dressed. Maria...The new Minister of defense, Constantino Méndez PSOE, is not in this picture. Maria et al, better keep up with the new ministers.
Delete@9:33 Thanks you are right. Also, it is always great to see ladies at these events up their fashion game and show Spanish chic at its best. The lady with the braids and striped pants nicely matched with her purse, another winner.
DeleteThe Minister of Defence is Margarita Robles, who is not there..
DeleteNice to see this skirt again. Would love to have one myself. I do prefer the first look to today. I think the bolder blue color is more flattering on Leti than the white and blue shoes are better too. This skirt style is beautiful and the Spanish queen wears it well!!
ReplyDeleteNice and fresh summer outfit. The white blouse is tricky to wear, but she managed fairly well to avoid see-through effects. The skirt has a lovely pattern and I like the wide dark-blue belt with it. I don´t like the way the pleats open up, and I think the skirt had looked better if it had been shorter (if it had ended where the white line is).
ReplyDeleteNice and simple, but Letizia looks very good in it and she wears it well.
ReplyDeleteLa de rojo y negro es la Ministra de Educación, Isabel Celaá.
ReplyDeleteNow it is easy to see that Letizia has had the skirt shortened, with that tuck near the bottom, to be the right proportion. If this had been Sophie of England she would have had it dragging her ankles. That's such an easy fix if you care about how you look.
ReplyDeleteI hasn't been shortened, it's another skirt, in Spain they have found it...
DeleteHer bra is in the wrong cup size!
ReplyDeleteI noticed the same thing.
DeleteI think that's a Spanish thing, we don't like to cover the whole...
DeleteYou dont have to cover them with a full cup but the half cups of this bra is to small and makes it look lika Leti has 4 breasts :)
DeleteVery common in Spain, we all probably wear the wrong size...we only ask the contour size not the cup...sometimes you only find B or D....
DeleteWe need a teacher in Spain, very few people understand about cups... Probably because of that we think they are a torture...
DeleteAy! again with the fixation on the 'girls' :)
DeleteLetizia's skirt is very nice and she looks fresh and youthful. Next to her, Ana Pastor, the President of the Congress of Deputies for the PP. dressed in a too short, ill fitting red dress, ugly shoes and hair, looks very disheveled.
DeleteVery lovely look from the queen. Everything works well together -- her skirt, blouse, belt, shoes and simple hairstyle. Very elegant and fresh look.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous skirt! Personally I think it looked nicer when worn with the dark top and shoes, the white top and pale shoes only seems to emphasize the belt, making it the focal point of the ensemble.
ReplyDelete70 years? ...and in those heels? bendigas!!
DeleteTotalmente de acuerdo, Angie.
DeleteShe is the President of "Mujeres por Africa" charity..
DeleteQueen Letizia of Spain's role as President of Women for Africa Foundation must be making great contributions to an empowerment of women in Africa, I think.
ReplyDeleteNice crisp skirt and blouse for Letizia, it really spells summer. The other Lady with the red blazer and back skirt is very elegant. Good choice today.
ReplyDeleteSencilla, moderna, perfecta.
ReplyDeleteRegal and dignified look of the spanish Queen, great summery choice.
ReplyDeleteNice outfit and since I'm not allowed to mention the big elephant in the room when it comes to Leti...
ReplyDeleteAfter the succession of ghastly cropped trousers, this one is a winner for me! I think the Queen looks elegance personified. If the lady in the lace pyjama style trousers is 70, I'll forgive her. Can't think why anyone would wa not to wear them but kudos for the shoes.
ReplyDeleteRe: The lace pants. It takes a certain panache to create your own style and not follow the herd, or be cowed by protocol and or 'fashion experts'.
DeleteThat woman has always dressed like that, she has a strong personality..
