Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia, Sir Peter John Cosgrove and his wife Lynne Cosgrove are making a three day state visit to Belgium. On June 27, 2018, King Philippe of Belgium and Queen Mathilde of Belgium welcomed Governor-General of Australia and his wife with an official ceremony at Royal Palace in Brussels. In the evening, the King and the Queen held a state dinner at Brussels Royal Castle in honour of Sir Peter Cosgrove and Lynne Cosgrove. |
Nyet to the red fascinator....
ReplyDeleteAgree, agree. It's not even nice, and I don't like them on anyone.
DeleteThis one is counted as coctail hat. It has more than 10 cm2 base, if not it would be fascinator. I like it, same color in purse, shoes and dress.
DeleteDidn't Maxima wear the same red dress as Mathilde just last week but in lilac?.... or something very similar?
ReplyDeleteOr some other Royal lady has the exact same dress? Letizia maybe?
Victoria of Sweden has it. But on Mathilde the dress looks much better - no fussy bow, better length and accessories. It makes Mathilde looks younger.
DeleteI think It was CP Victoria who wore that dress recently.
DeleteMaxima's lilac dress from last week is quite different.
DeleteVictoria wore the same blush dress with red flowers during the State visit of the Cambridges to sweden.
Once again a State visit. Q Mathilde's dress looks nice, the little hat is not so good maybe a different style would have been better. For the Gala dinner I am a little disappointed about the size of the Tiara. Lady Cosgrove's dress looks nice too. Lord Cosgrove has enough hardware on his Uniform the King with his rather plain Uniform looks a lit lost.
ReplyDeleteHaha about the hardware!! And yes, the tiara is a little skimpy.
DeleteThe fascinator on itself is ok, just the placement draws all attention to it; especially the front look - pity the look of whole outfit otherwise is fine.
DeleteAgreed that we all like the more elaborate tiaras! The modest tiara choice is probably on purpose: it is not an overall royal event nor are her guests - she is the only one in the party I think. Like the dress.
I hope every time when seeing pictures of Mathilde in gala dinners to see again Fabiola´s Spanish Wedding Gift Tiara. I still hope it is back to Belgian royal vaults.
DeleteMathilde has only three tiaras, this Wolfer´s Necklace Tiara, ugly Nine Province one and her own Laurel leaf Tiara.
Sir Peter and Lady Cosgrove are a wonderful couple and all his medals and orders have been well earned
ReplyDeleteMathilde looks lovely in both outfits - I especially like the day dress. I don't dislike all fascinators but I'm not keen on this although I do like the pop of red.
ReplyDeleteThe ladies looked very elegant for evening, which made up for (imo) too much frou-frou in the day looks.
ReplyDeleteI except that Mathilde repeats lilac gown from Armani which she wore during celebration of 70's birthday of King of Sweden. It 's simply beautiful. Also dress with flowers is pretty but image destroys hat :)
ReplyDeleteMathilde is 2x prachtig.
ReplyDeleteLovely lady, always nice to see her fashion choices. I think her day dress could have done without the fascinator, but beautiful nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteMathilde est une belle femme et une grande reine! J'aime bien sa robe "rouge" avec des fleurs...
ReplyDeleteNice outfits on the Governor General's wife. Mathilde's gown is beautiful and coordinates with her sash. The tiara goes well with the butterfly pin she is wearing to hold the sash; matched scale.
ReplyDeleteLa tiara es toda de grandes brillantes regaló de la Reina Fabiola
ReplyDeleteLove both dresses and the red hat too. It gives her a raffish air. All the other accessoires are well chosen too. It is kind of her not to wear the big gems but to keep it simple.
