On June 21, 2018, Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Anne, Countess Sophie of Wessex, Princess Beatrice of York, Princess Eugenie of York and Duchess Birgitte of Gloucester attended the third day of Royal Ascot 2018 held at Ascot Racecourse. The third day of Royal Ascot is known as Ladies Day. Ladies Day of Royal Ascot is considered one of the most glamorous events in the five day racing calender of Royal Ascot. |
All the Royal ladies look good today. Feathers seems to have been the choice of the day.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen seems very happy these days and that colour suits her lovely smile. Sophie also looks good, as does Eugenie. Not crazy about Beatrice's dress. Those B&W panels are not flattering to her figure. The best dressed today for me is the Duchess of Gloucester but she is not (yet) featured on this blog. Perhaps there are more photos to come?
Ah.. Thank you Hellen for adding that photo of the Duchess of Gloucester.
DeleteI do like that rusty orange dress with the green hat on her. Is the fabric raw silk or satin? The full skirt and shirt top suits her very well and the hat gives a pop of unusual colour, which is picked up in her necklace. Because it's unusual and unexpected, I like it the best for today.
Beatrice needs to fire her stylist if she has one. The poor girl already has wide hips so why accentuate them with white panels to make her look two sizes larger. That’s a great skirt for a woman with a boyish figure. Sophie, OTOH, looks amazing again as well as the queen.
ReplyDeleteThat dress of hers sure is not for her body shape, and is quite ugly anyway. I have never seen Beatrice well dressed except maybe at William's wedding, but her fascinator then was the most ridiculous thing you ever saw. You don't have to be rich to be well dressed, it seems the poor girl can't win.
DeleteAgree this number is one of the worst Beatrice has ever had. Completely wrong to her shape. Almost same with Eugenie here. Love although Beatrice´s hat. Sophie, The Queen, Anne and Birgitte look all good.
DeleteBeatrice did look good at day 1.
The York sisters - the money is there but apparently no stylist, no mirror and no taste.
DeleteAgree to Beatrice looked good on day 1 and on the wedding of Prince Harry and so Eugenie. They can do better, we will see.
DeleteToday Her Majesty is the Lady in pink, she really looks good in any color. The Css Of Wessex dress looks very good, the hat not so much. Camilla really looks good in big hats. Eugenies dress is very pretty not so much the one of Beatrice, the hat she wore is good.Only Pss Anne can step out in a decade old dress and looks good. Well either you got it or not?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Sophie, simply wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAgree, stunning !
DeleteThe Queen looks good in the pink and I like Beatrice's monochrome look. The Princess Royal looks much better today - the bright colour helps.
ReplyDeleteNot keen on Eugenie's dress - neither fabric nor style. The print is too busy and I don't like the high neck. Don't like the flat hat.
My favourites are the Duchess of Gloucester and Sophie Wessex. Just lovely.
The lady in the bronze polished cotton dress and green hat is all that. A green shoe or darker brown shoe would probably look better. The royals ..well done! and the Queen always fabulous, dignified and delightful to see.
ReplyDeleteThat's the Duchess of Gloucester. I think she looks great.
DeleteThe lady is the Duchess of Gloucester. I like her dress too...
DeleteThe Queen looks great. Princess Anne looks great, also. Sophie's blue outfit yesterday was similar to one of Beatrice's dresses from last year and now her hat looks like something Camilla would wear. Is she trying other styles, having some fashion fun? Beatrice deserves a grace period - the breakup of a long term relationship - has it been a year? I think my hair is closer to her shade than her mother's is. I could apply for the stylist position. The photographer did well and found a good angle to snap a photo. Eugenie's dress is nice, but a little busy. Duchess Birgitte doesn't usually do the social scene - good to see her, looking sharp. Now if all the young ladies would wear shoes like Birgitte they'll be happy a few decades from now. Beatrice's hat is nice, she can get a lot of use out of it.
ReplyDeleteThat woman is the Duchess of Gloucester, she is married to the Queen's cousin.
ReplyDeleteErdem should be banned from Royal familly. The dress is horrible.
ReplyDeleteShe is lovely and always looks serene and contented at any event she attends. The Queen is amazing as always, Sophie Wessex--love the outfit but wish it was just a few shades darker. The Princess Royal has an amazing figure and looks so much better in this brighter ensemble. As for the York princesses, I disagree that Beatrice looks awful--the dress looks much better front on and her hat is fab and one of my favourites so far. I agree that she tends to ignore the effect that certain styles make her look very heavy, especially when photographed. Her white dress with wide frill at the V & A was the same thing, whereas the wonderful multi coloured dress at the Serpentine was fantastic. Eugenie's dress isn't brilliant--too short again and the high neck is not especially flattering but not a disaster. I'm inclined to agree with the person who would ban Erdem from the wardrobes of royalty
ReplyDeleteThe light purple suits Queen Elizabeth very much and other royal ladies also look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI think the queen sees this as the yearly off duty outing for herself! Must be that - whenever there are horses around, she is simply beaming...
ReplyDeleteI actually disagree on Beatrice's dress. Seen from the front, it looks like an arrow pointing downwards - and indeed the hips stick out - it's maybe also the fabric doing this, but it is not a good choice - just awkward. Sophie's dress is okay, just indeed a bit pale. The Princess Royal's outfit is great - maybe the hat could have done with a touch of dark blue.
The Queen - another day in paradise. The Princess Royal looks good and so does the DoG. Amazing colour.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen, the Princess Royal and the Duchess of Gloucester - let's hear it for the older ladies knocking it out of the park!
ReplyDeleteOMG, the Queen dressed in pink chewing gum !!!
ReplyDeleteNow an Anonymous will come and punish her, hahaha
My favorite today: Brigitte Gloucester, for the daring contrast and ... the emeralds :)
Good if the Queen feels in paradise, I feel better today with this pink outfit, than on day1 with the yellow one.
ReplyDeleteNot a big fan of the orange and green, looks more fall than summer and the shoes do not complement it at all. Sophie looks very nice, feathers are not my favorite, but it is Ascot! Anne looks wonderful. The teal blue color is very attractive on her. Her dress, hat and jewelry are great together! Whenever I read that the York sisters attended an event, I so hope they will look nice and have a better sense of fashion. Today Beatrice's hat is a win for me and I like her little jacket, just wish the white skirt part was plain without the black arrow bit. Eugenie is a total miss for me. Still hoping they will get better...
ReplyDeleteHow come that two young, beautiful women, like Beatrice and Eugenie with all the money in the world, with all the professional help in the world, can't dress? It never cease to surprise me. They both need not to complicate their outfits so much. Keep it simple, one would think that wouldn't be too hard.
ReplyDeleteAgee, well said.
DeleteI always look forward to Ascot. I don't particularly care for racing, I do however, love to see what the Royals are wearing. Her Majesty as usual did not disappoint in a lively pink ensemble, Sophie's ensemble is very pretty, but a tad too pale for my personal taste, but as elegant as expected from the Countess. Sadly the York girls were as expected, I wish they would employ a stylist.
