I love this lady - well done to her for winning this award.
ReplyDeleteFashion wise this dress is so her - she has always loved bows and I like it a lot. Her hair looks fabulous like this.
Mabel is a lovely princess.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to see her smile again.
But Mabel - where did you find that ghastly dress?
It's way too short.
Agree with everything. She's lovely, the dress is ghastly and then some.............
DeleteTotally agree on the dress. Ghastly. I do admire her and what she has gone through. It is nice to see her smile so I can overlook the bows..
DeleteI actually love the dress. It's cute, but I think it's a style that would look better on a woman in her 20's.
ReplyDeleteAgain a dress created by her favorite designers, Viktor & Rolf.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hairdo.
This is one of the most unflattering dresses I have ever seen, especially worn by a woman her age... and braless! An absolute miss.
ReplyDeleteWell said, I know she loves V&R but this time is a big miss, terrible fitting, not aged appropriated just horrible!
DeleteThis dress is very "Mabel" but the dress is poorly tailored and she needs a better bra. Or maybe she's not wearing a bra at all - yikes!
ReplyDeleteHer dress is from her favourite Dutch designers Victor & Rolf
ReplyDeletePss Mable looks very happy and that is what counts. The LBD is not bad, do not care for all these bows and a little to short for her age. Congratulation for winning this award.
ReplyDeleteWeird choice of dresses by most ladies in the photos actually - is this a competition on who can do least elegant or even tacky?
ReplyDeleteFamous brand or designer does not equal classy or well designed.
Also I find lots of the royals - all ages - now wear their dresses above the knee. Well even if you have the loveliest figure, knees always remain the least flattery part of a body especially when standing straight upright. Just half on the knee makes it so much better. Although this dress is just hideous whatever lenghth.
Mabel must simply loves bows! I still remember her bride gown by Viktor & Rolf covered with small bows and where the bows gained in size (!) as they continued down the train!
ReplyDeleteHave you noticed the photoshop on the model??? Her body and legs look impossibly slender. May be this is the only way this dress is flattering! Absurd. Shame for V&R.
ReplyDeleteMabel needs to invest in a good bra. The ruffles draw the eyes to the widest part of her body. As long as she likes it that’s all that matters.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is not a good choice for her, too short and ruffly. But she seems happy so good for her.
ReplyDeleteDress is ugly but I like her open and uncomplicated manner. Seems to me, she likes bows very much! Already her wedding dress with lots of bow, and bows again and again - big, small, colored, white, black,... She has a new haircut and it's famous!
ReplyDeletePrincess Mabel looks very fanulous.

LOL the model - ridiculous indeed with the photoshopping -
ReplyDeleteIndeed Mabel loves the bows. large sentimental value obviously; she had one of the larger wedding dress bows integrated in her black dress for her husband's funeral...
As a woman you reach a certain age in life in which a bra is a necessity - not an option. The “girls” just don’t, and can’t, “stand up” on their own anymore. Mabel could have still worn this dress and looked fabulous if she had simply had altered a wee bit to make it more age appropriate. Change the back so that a bra – a real bra, not a bra insert – could have been worn, had the hemline lowered to below the knee (or even floor length), and had the size of the bows reduced (maybe leaving one on the side large for asymmetrical impact), and she would have looked fabulous – especially with that smile of hers. As is, this look is just embarrassing. It makes her look like she’s trying too hard.
