Please be courteous and let your foreign visitors stand on the red carpet for the photo, no?

    1. It's not the first time and it often happens with just the president and Melania. There have been times when she is walking on tarmac or bare walkway while the president stands alone on the red carpet.

    2. That is sooo true!!!

Other negative and some positive comments have been removed. Why hasn't the "massive doofus" comment above been removed? Fair is fair!!

    4. ROFL at your comment, Cath! He does it all the time. I still remember how he took up the red carpet at an airport and Melania kept being run off the edge until she just walked on the tarmac.

Not the first time regarding the red carpet, often happens. Perhaps your political bias is more the issue.
The ladies look lovely, I wonder if the pinks were coincidence or coordinated.

Anonymous June 26, 2018 at 4:10 PM - I don't know at whom among us your comment is aimed, but for me it's not political (I don't live in the USA), it's just Trump maybe perhaps possibly putting his honored guests above himself for even a few minutes.

Rosalie, it was not your comment, sorry no other way to reply but I could have been more specific the way you have it writing the name/time.
My comment was directed at the person calling the US President a name and ignorantly saying he is the only one who does this- other Presidents and world leaders have not centered everyone on a single carpet. Some places wisely have a carpet perpendicular to the one shown here to avoid misperceptions like this.

Thank you, Anonymous June 26, 2018 at 10:13 PM. Sorry, I didn't see that other comment before it was removed.

I realize it happens other places, but this particular carpet leading to the doorway in the background was way too narrow for four people. The Trumps still could've scooched over a bit to accommodate at least King Abdullah. I guess the red-carpet crowd are used to these things and nobody will start a war over it.

      All the best.

There should be no surprise that this individual has no interest in curtesy. That is just who he is. Whatever.

I like both outfits, but cannot understand the current obsession with this pale pink. It’s really not a flattering colour on anyone. I prefer queen Rania’s jumpsuit,

Very wonderful photo of King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein and Queen Rania of Jordan and President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the White House.

  3. Somehow I very much envisage both ladies to switch outfits, Melania will look better in those jumpsuit and Queen Rania would look her usual duty Queen look on that Proenza dress.

  4. I often think that Melania Trump is one of the most beautifully dressed women in the world. Today is no exception.

    2. I completely agree. For all the negative attention he gets, she is always the picture of class and style through it all. Why isn’t the media applauding her at the same time? She certainly doesn’t have an easy job but she is handling it to perfection.

    3. She is beautiful and stylish, but her hair looks like a helmet..

      Royalty fan

Anja, I agree with you, and I'll also say her hair looks like a school girl's. I wish she can get it styled like on their inauguration day, and there was another event, I think last year, when she also had it styled in a chignon of sorts, and she looked stunning

Very different outfits for this meeting, but both look lovely! Melanie's dress fits well and has a classic style. Rania's pants are wide and flowing. In a video showing their arrival, Rania's pants are pretty in the wind while she is walking.
Keep it to fashion, not kook aid.

I’d love Queen Rania’s j/suit if it were properly fitted. A good tailor or learning to sew (by machine or needle) is a must, especially if one wants to look well attired.

  7. He may be the shortest of the group, but King Abdullah towers above the rest. I've always enjoyed interviews that he's given in the past. The ladies looked beautiful!

  8. Melania looks wonderful, she's one of the most elegant first ladies. Rania's outfit looks a bit like a night robe.

  9. The former model Melania Trump looks good in almost all kind of dresses, also this pink dress is beautiful … but someone has to tell The First Lady not to sit with crossed legs on official pics, especially not together with guests from the Middle East!

There are actually many pics of President Trump with his jacket buttoned. It is personal preference at different times. There are several posed pictures of Prince William with his jacket unbuttoned too.

Hey unknown, just for clarification, I was the first Anonymous (at 4:10) above and that had been my only post other than the one I just posted to Rosalie. Perhaps they're different posters with Anonymous or unknown who happen to have similar opinions. Totally agree with the other anonymous about many wearing their jackets unbuttoned, however I for one think they look better/more polished buttoned.

  12. Of course both ladies look elegant and beautiful. But anyway these pictures are weird. One couple that embodies decency and personality. And one other couple. (This is only my subjective impression, of course! I don't want to insult anybody.)

    1. I admire both King Abdullah and President Trump, and Queen Rania and Melania Trump as well. These are four very courageous people who have the strength to keep smiling and who make the effort to present themselves well as we see here, while trying to do the best they can at their jobs under very challenging conditions. I am proud of them all.

They may all be courageous but they have very different values. Trump is an elected official—not royalty. I think we shouldnt comment on him—positive or negative. He is too divisive and discussion of him—pro or con— takes the fun out of this.

Up until the last week, I would have been one of the many that compliment Melania, but, after she wore that jacket, I lost a little respect for her. She's no rebellious teenager, so what was she thinking ?! Sorry if my comments offend any followers, that's not my intention, just my thoughts.

Again a visit to the White House. It has been a pleasure to watch these two couples interact with each other. The President and the King have a very difficult job and both know it.I wish them all the Luck in the world and success in their jobs. Melania and Jacky O,have been the most elegant and stylish First Ladies the USA ever had.Q Rania looks very nice today. Both Ladies were spot on.

  16. I don't really like Queen Rania's outfit - I like the colour but it looks ill-fitting and badly finished to me.

I love the colour of Melanie Trump' s dress and I like the style of the dress with the wrapover but it doesn't quite work for me - I think it's because you can see the creases made by the bits underneath; in the end, she reminds me a bit of a sexy nurse from a glossy soap opera. A shame because normally I like her fashion choices and find her very stylish.

    2. Wow Franny, I kept looking at Melania's dress and couldn't put my finger on it, your description is right on point. Personally I think the First Lady usually wears expensive and stylish clothing, but the end result is hardly elegant, could be the hair, the excessive spray tan, the very heavy makeup or the emphasis on the bust area. Warning!! This is not a reflection on her character, simply a fashion opinion. Not crazy about QR outfit, it seems to swallow her, but she is definitely adventurous, sometimes superb, and others a little bit on the edge.

Muy bien las dos señoras. Ambas llevan un color rosa muy fino, y sus ropas no ciñen exageradamente sus cuerpos. Esto siempre es elegante, ya que requiere una atención especial.
