On April 16, 2018, Monday, Dutch Queen Maxima attended premiere of The Color Purple Musical, held at NDSM-Loods in Amsterdam. The Color Purple tells life stories of three black women in the South of America, who lived at the beginning of 20th century at such a time when slavery was forbidden but its results were still felt strongly. The Colour Purple performance takes place at a depot transformed into a theatre hall in NDSM shipyard. The musical may be visited until May 14. |
Oh my. As I said the last time we saw this outfit - I adore the colour and the top is stunning but I do wish those pants (ugh) had been a skirt! Her hair looks nice.
ReplyDeletereally Maxima ,the other day you wore the beautiful red dress and now this one . I think she needs a new Designer ,Natan is just not for you . She is such a grand Lady she should be with D&G, Valentino Ralph Lauren and so on.
ReplyDeleteI agree something has a designer label on it doesn’t mean it looks good or looks good on the wearer. Those pants are horrendous!
DeleteFrom waist up she is beautiful. But THOSE PANTS are awful! Absolutely nothing stylish or chic about them at all.
ReplyDeleteThere's no doubt -- those pants should have been a skirt! But as Natan designed them...horrible!!
ReplyDeleteMaxima is tall and slender woman but this outfit makes her look at least 10kgs heavier than she actually is. Natan hate women's form?
Did you know that Natan (Edouard Vermeulen) was an interior designer? So maybe that's why he cannot design women's clothes.
DeleteHe designed furniture. That's why he can't get the darts right on tops and all the fabrics are stiff or shiny or both - he thinks he is making a slip cover for a sofa, not a woman's body!
DeleteShame it isn't a skirt or if they must be palazzo pants a soft, more floaty material. Otherwise, I think she looks good down to the waist. Natan needs to get over his obsession with stiff shiny fabric.
ReplyDeleteI am not found of the pants neither, but if we look at pic4 we see that many ladies wear that sort of pants, so why? was that part of the dress code? or suiting the needs of Color Purple... but of course they are part of the Natan collection, so what?
ReplyDeleteCompletamente de acuerdo con todos los comentarios. y si a eso le sumamos la forma de pararse con las piernas separadas???? horroroso. caso puntual la fotografia 2
ReplyDeleteSandra, she always stands with her feet apart, i cannot understand this. For me it means that she totally did not have any lessons about how to stand tall and elegant.
DeleteA 'shorthair' coiffure becomes her, gigantic pants not. She should trash them. She should keep the top and try another combination (straight silk pants e.g.) I like her earrings and her smile:-)
ReplyDeleteOMG!
That is hilarious!!!

I agree, her hair looks stunning, again, after all the bad hair days
I think she looks stunning. Her hair everything. It all came together nicely.
ReplyDeleteShe chose to keep her outfit toned down a bit so as not to detract from the musical. Well, that's what I think, anyways.
Hair, makeup, jewellery and the top half of the outfit are lovely and the colour is stunning on Maxima, however those wide leg pants are horrid.
ReplyDeleteDifferent, but I think she pulled it off. Not everyone could. A bit of a risk, but well done!
