  1. oh the queen looks wonderfull!
and I miss Prince Philip. Need to look at dailymails website, if he was with the gang or if he sat this one out :-)

    1. Daily Mail (whose journalism you have to take with a grain of salt) says that Prince Philip is nursing a sore hip -- hence his absence.

    2. I prefer dailymail mostly because of the pics, almost never read what they write :D

  2. Who is that in blue behind the Duchess of Cambridge in the sixth photograph?

    1. The lady in blue is HMQ's newly appointed lady-in- waiting , Mrs Simon Rhodes

    2. Mrs Simon Rhodes is married to the son of Margaret Rhodes who was the Queen's cousin and best friend before she passed away 2 years ago.

And the black gentleman, Major Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah is the commander of the Queen's Household Cavalry,he will be accompanying the Queen on parades now that prince Phillip is retired

  3. Catherine looks wonderful as always. But should she not stay at home and relax?

    1. Why? As long as she feels good and healthy. She seems to be fine, she looks great, I love her hair here, her make-up and the pillbox hat, plus the modern version of pearl earrings.

P.S. At this time of pregnancy I worked a full time job, and obviously did not have as much help as she does. She will soon go into maternity leave.

    3. You could ask the same for Zara Tindall-Phillips. It's a mainly private event, no official public appointment. The heavily pregnant women have every right to appear, as they should in any family.

    4. DSC, do you misunderstand me on purpose? With no word I've said that pregnant women "have no right to appear".

  4. For once Princess Beatrice really looks nice. I like the style of coat. She looks classy. Eugenie's dress looks better on the model. I don't like the poofy bottom. I don't think the color of Catherine's hat goes with her coat. Zara and Peter's wife look the best to me. Nice to see they are having a good time.

    1. Yes, I agree, for me this time Autumn and Zara are best dressed and particulary Autumn looks very beautiful.

  5. She looks wonderful. And I think, that she knows very well what she is able to do. So nice that actually she has no "problems" like she had in the beginnig of this pregnancy.

The pearl brooch of the Duchess of Cambridge looks odd and unattractive to me.

The family is relaxed and enjoying the time together, very nice!

  8. Princess Anne looked magnificent! Quite a few others looked nice, but afaic she gets top marks. When her outfits have clean lines, few components, and good color-coordination, she hits it out of the park. The feathers didn't even ruin the look -- they stopped just short of being too frouffy. Spectacularly played!

Lady Louise Windsor has gotten tall and is dressed so nicely, quite the young lady.

  10. Vaya, vaya...

    1. Angie,
      I agree with you 100%.

    2. Oh, Angie, ¡ahí le has dao! Esa po re niña parece vestida como si fuera a hacer el papel de Miss Marple. La cosa que lleva la princesa Eugenie en la cabeza nunca debería haber visto la luz. En conjunto mucho dinero tirado en sombreros más bien feos y rancios.

    3. Mee too. Poor girl!

    4. Infantas Leonor and Sofia - too childish, Lady Louise - too adult. That's the general problem. I quite like the heels Lady Louise is wearing, it's a nice change to the normal ballerina style royal teenageers use. But then, they're all in a difficult age (as are their dutch and belgian counterparts), and it seems hard to get it right when it comes to official dress.

    6. Of course, the age between 11-14 is difficult, no more a child but not yet a young woman. But I think it is manageable to find some modern decent clothes, that are not trashy or overly sexy. For a 14 year old like Louise I could well imagine a dress like this

Combine it with a pink jacket and pink medium heeles shoes, a nice modern haircut and that's it. She looks older than the Queen with that burgundy coat and this silly flower on her head.

      This one is also nice
