Queen Rania looks very classy and more prepared to visit a technical school which is concentrated on heavy machinery, it seems. Queen Maxima looks rather silly in the mass of ruffles with hair in her face under a fuzzy hat.

ReplyDeleteBut I like her lively, natural face while the Jordanian Queen can't nearly move her smile anymore. To much botox or whatever. There is a fine line when one has to stop. Very sad and not necessary.
Botox must make it uncomfortable and scary not to be able to move your face as in days gone by. Several princes/kings are aging naturally and the princesses/queens are stuffed with botox desperately trying to look 20 years younger; they almost look like father & daughter instead of husband & wife. And don't get me started on hair (hello Queen Silvia, it's not working for you).

Queen Rania, on point, chic and appropriate for the event. I am unable to like any piece of Queen Máximas outfit.
I always liked Queen Maximas expressive and lively style but with the years she seems to get more and more excentric. She must be careful, she is not far away from looking weird. Rania can fail too as we know, but here she hit the point.

ReplyDeleteMir gefällt immer das flamboyante Element in Königin Maximas Garderobe. Was ich nicht so mag, ist Extravaganz um jeden Preis. Irgendwie scheint auch dieses Outfit in diese Kategorie zu gehören. Ich gebe Beth recht; es ist nur ein kleiner Schritt vom zauberhaft Ungewöhnlichen zur ungewollten Lächerlichkeit. Ich hoffe, Maxima schafft den Spagat! Denn immer nur ganz comme il faut, das würde mich langweilen. Ansonsten: meine Augen verweilten sehr gerne auf Herrn Rutte.

ReplyDeleteI kind of thought the same thing, but could just be the pictures. Or that Rania hardly can move her face, she looks like she has a sour candy in her mouth. It's a pity because she is a beautiful lady.
DeleteI must be in minority here because I really like Maxima's outfit. Hat and all. I just wish her hair would have been pulled away from her face more. Rania looks fine, but uninspired. It doesn't look like they are enjoying each other's company though.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm not mistaken Maxima has worn that hat before?? It looks like a tea cosy. This whole outfit is mismatched and looks rather scrappy with her hair once again. As Berh said she is starting to look eccentric.
ReplyDeleteI don't like Rania's pants ( I don't like cropped pants, whereas others do) but other than that she looks professional amd appropriate.
ReplyDeleteMaxima's outfit is silly, and inappropriate, and verging on weird, as Beth commented. The dress is fussy and the hat and the inappropriate hairstyle are the last straw.

I think Queen Rania has much more style than Queen Maxima, with no doubt. Less is More

ReplyDeleteLeí todos los comentarios y va mi opinión. El vestido de Máxima tiene demasiados boleros o volantes. algo mas plano seria mejor. la combinación de gris con café maduro no va. posiblemente con azul marino le hubiera dado mas elegancia. El sombrero turbante demasiado feo.
ReplyDeleteEl pantalón de Rania... ese tipo de pantalones no le queda bien a personas tan delgadas y menos si lo complementa una chaqueta.
En cuanto a los rostros hay que envejecer dignamente. Rania era una linda mujer pero ya me parece acartonada. ahhhh y los labios están demasiado gruesos.
De loin, je préfère la tenue de la reine Rania. Quelle élégance! Quant à la reine Maxima, pris individuellement, je trouve que les éléments de sa tenue ne sont pas si pires. On dirait que c'est l'assemblage du tout qui rend l'ensemble moins harmonieux. Ses cheveux, ses cheveux, n'en parlons plus!
ReplyDeleteI think the biggest issue is Max's outfit is just not appropriate for where they are. I like Rania's outfit. I know older woman really hate them but done right cropped or wide legged pants can be super flattering. It's just when they're done wrong there is no forgiveness.
ReplyDeleteWith that being said I just don't think they have the same rapport as the other queen/princesses. And as a woman starting to get older there's just unimaginable pressure even for regular people not to age. Imagine what they must experience. Men get distinguished, handsome...women are considered just old.

ReplyDeleteRania's outfit presents me with a dilemma: I just can't like a cropped trouser (and if anyone could make the look work, it would be Rania or CP Mary). The proportions just never look right. But, without the cropped trouser to give it interest and "edge", her outfit would be awfully boring. In either case, though, it would work better than Maxima's. (Maxima needs a stylist who will be vigilant in combating this beautiful woman's maddening tendency toward wanting to look a hot mess).
