Today, on March 24, Saturday, Principality of Monaco celebrates 2018 Bal de la Rose's 64th edition held at Monte Carlo Sporting Club for the benefit of Princess Grace Foundation. This year's theme is "Manhattan" and decoration was designed by French caricaturist and painter Jean-Jacques Sempé and designer Karl Lagerfeld. Princess Caroline of Hanover, Pierre Casiraghi, Beatrice Borromeo, Charlotte Casiraghi, Dimitri Rassam and Princess Alexandra of Hanover attended Bal de la Rose event. |
Love Caroline in the soft pink - she looks relaxed and happy. I love the soft lines and tiers of her dress.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice looks fabulous - the plain black with the great jewellery really works.
Charlotte's look is ok - the feathers are a bit much and I think her hair needs more volume and softness to counteract both the feathers and her angular bone structure.
Alexandra is pretty but not loving this dress at all - I don't really like tweed for evening dresses and find it quite an "old" fabric for a teenager.
Anyway, the clothes aren't quite as exaggerated as they have been at some of the previous Rose Balls.
Very wonderful Royal Family of Monaco
ReplyDeleteI almost did not recognize Caroline in first photo! Just for a moment I thought who is that?
ReplyDeleteI think they all look great though not a big fan of Charlottes look. Seems harsh. She looks too angular. No softness. I rarely find any of Alexandra's attire ..... to my taste.
Princess Caroline has always had a beautiful face, she is aging gracefully and that shade of pink she is wearing is very flattering, although I cannot say I like the gown.
ReplyDeleteFrom the waist up Beatrice looks lovely. Classic and elegant. It is a pity the skirt of the gown ruined the overall look.
Alexandra is a very young looking 18, and could do with a little bit of her Mother's attention when it comes to hair and makeup. Minimal is best, why cover beautiful young skin. Can't say I like the gown.
As for Charlotte, I am sure that ostrich "thing" she is wearing feels lovely and it would have looked lovely around the collar of a matching coat and gloves, maybe even as a wrap, but not as a poncho with one arm poking out.
Yes, but she can use this poncho also as a bathroom carpet. Very useful.
DeleteBeatrice and Caroline look fabulous, even if I'm not a fan of the many ruffle in Carolina's dress. Charlotte needs another hairstyle for this great dress, and so does Alexandra. This teeny "I'm going to the gym" ponytail is annoying. I actually like the upper part of her dress but the skirt is meehh
ReplyDeleteAgree on all points.
DeleteIs Beatrice pregnant?; Does anyone know?. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYes, Beatrice is pregnant.
DeleteI think all the ladies look great and true to their own unique style. I love Alexandra's Chanel dress, which is formal while still looking age appropriate.
ReplyDeleteI dont get the extreme fashion.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteBeatrice looks a lot like her late grandmother-in-law, Princess Grace, in the close-up picture. Quite striking.
ReplyDeleteAnd where are Charlène and Albert?
ReplyDeletePrincess Caroline of Hanover looks wonderful. The dress with sleeves and flounces in delicate palest pink at ease.
ReplyDeleteHer beautiful daughters Princess Alexandra of Hanover and Charlotte Casiraghi are stunning as well. Charlotte pretty and powerful with one-shoulder-dress with white fluffy feathers flying from her shoulders and Princess Alexandra with a flounce dress in snowwhite and enwrought with shades of pastell.
Equally Princess Beatrice with a feminine updo and black, spaped dress, beautiful family.
I am not on board with Caroline's dress, it is definitely an acquired taste for the followers of vintage and 20's styles.
ReplyDeleteShe looks more like a person on costume for a movie of that era, I won't say that she looked terrible, that won't happen due to the fact of her innate elegance. I had the same feeling with Charlotte's dress, Hollywood diva of yesteryear, magnetic and sultry, but definitely it shows effort for the cause. Alexandra's dress is just OK, a little bland, not too flattering for her complexion, and the hair needs a little work for these special occasions.
Now, Beatrice is on a league of her own, she looks the part of royalty, elegant, classic and current at the same time, fantastic hair, and beautiful jewels, WOW!!!
Charlotte est fiancée
ReplyDeleteI think that apart from Beatrice they look silly. Fashion victims, with overtones of the "Emperor's new clothes".
ReplyDeleteBeatrice jewels arte Borromeo familiari jewels
ReplyDeleteIt must be hard for Alexandra amidst beauties like Charlotte, Beatrice - and her mother.
ReplyDeleteOh come on! She is a beautiful young girl. I love her genuine smile.
DeleteAgree - she is natural and seems charming. She doesn't seem to walk around looking down her nose at the ceiling as her big sister often does. She has more of her mother's charisma than Charlotte does.
DeleteI mean Beatrice jewels are Borromeo family jewels
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with beards! Karl looks quite nice with his white one, but the younger men, I do not know. Fashionwise, nothing special this year. Except Beatrice B.: black velvet and some priceless 'stones' and one can still rock the evening in style! Thank you Audrey!
ReplyDeletewat heb ik genoten ,van de familie!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like Caroline's version of the dress; the darker shade of pink, the longer tunic, better than the runway version. All the ladies look lovely.
