On February 20, 2018, Queen Elizabeth visited London Fashion Week to present the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design. London-born designer Richard Quinn was the very first recipient of the award. The Queen attended his show before presenting him with the award in a special ceremony. Quinn established his namesake label in 2016 after graduating from the Fashion MA course at Central Saint Martins |
Great. She was always interested in fashion and a real beauty in her youth - well she still is.
ReplyDeleteAgree!
DeleteMy thoughts, exactly.
DeleteI never thought I´d see the Queen at a fashion show. She seems to enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThe awardee accepting his prize wearing a baseball cap and flanel shirt was a shocker though. For a winner of a fashion prize, his outfit was a disgrace.
Seeing the first pic my thought was she is totally in wrong place in her mind, then, well she is having fun there! I am amazed. Something I would never have guessed really. The Queen is awesome.
DeleteI love Anna Wintour´s dress.
Does anyone know why Anna Wintour always wears sunglasses? The Queen’s suit is very elegant.
ReplyDeleteThe devil wears sunglasses, ha ha!
Delete@coralie so funny! 😎😝
DeleteShe said in an interview that the sunglasses help hide her expressions, so if she's bored/tired etc people can't see.
DeleteThank you for your replies. Loved them. But it is a little rude/pompous to hide your expression. I really thought she may have a problem with sensitive eyesight.
DeletePerhaps her vision has deteriorated and she wants to wear strong sunglasses instead of ordinary glasses ;);)
DeleteSome people with vertigo find relief wearing sunglasses. Overhead lights make me feel dizzy and I can’t focus well and have taken to wearing a brimmed hat whenever exposed to bright sunlight or LED lights in particular.
DeleteIn order to improve (?) my english, I read DailyFail every now and then (oh sorry, I mean DailyMail). I've read that a lot of people regard it as a breache of etiquette or even worse that Ms Wintour keeps her shades on while talking to the queen.
DeleteChecked it online...she has very poor eyesight and the lenses are corrective. I guess she doesn't want to bother with clear lenses when inside or perhaps her eyes are so bad that clear (and very thick) lenses would be unfashionable in her view. I still don't like someone who refuses to let her eyes be seen.
DeleteOhhhhhh, she's the most amazing elderly woman! Love QEII.
ReplyDeleteHow nice it's to see the Queen without a hat! She has wonderful hair and she looks better when she shows it.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking she is probably the last queen we will see wearing gloves when she is out and about.
ReplyDeleteNot if Maxima and Margarethe have a say in that!
DeleteWonderful. My respects. Always admired her outfits and her poise.
ReplyDeletethis is like the event of the year. Hm the Queen has never been cheekier attending this!
ReplyDeleteand the fact that she had different chair got me thinking if this was even photoshopped!! but its real and she looks great! I just cant leave the exclamation mark for this!
