Hmm. Well, I like the photo of Estelle. Otherwise, something just feels off and too staged--and I do realize it's a formal royal portrait. The aquamarine tiara is not my favorite on Victoria. It really looks better on Madeline. This particular blue is not Victoria's best color.
Agree the tiara suits Madeleine better, although I don't really like it anyway. Estelle's dress is not nice, and grandpa and Mom could do better than give a hint of a smile. The portrait of the 3 together is boring!
What a poor choice of dress for Estelle. It's a boring style, and the colour and fabric are horrible. I didn't like Victoria's dress when I first saw it and I still don't. The high neckline is not flattering.
Estelle’s dress is a rich raw silk with precious hand smocking around the waist... exquisite! Victoria’s gown is beautiful and the fit is spectacular. What a perfect picture of elegance! Congratulations to the family!
Estelle is so amazing! Even at this very young age one can't resist her charme and charisma! I like the photo of the three of them. The colour of Victorias dress is beautiful and I think it suits (nearly) everyone. The dress is feminine, elegant, regal. Good choice for a future queen.
Estelle is a lovely girl, but that dress is too childish and shiny, not a good choice. I didn't like Victoria's dress too much because of the high ruffled collar. Both the king and Victoria's smiles are not very warm, while Estelle's smile is beautiful!
Love these pics! Good light, background and layout. I also like Victoria´s dress and tiara. Victoria´s dress is personal, it fits perfectly and is really a regal gown. This tiara is one of my favorites and I am so happy we can see it more out today. About Estelle, I can imagine how much she waited to get this dress and how proud she is in this picture. her dress fits well and has beautiful silk fabric.
This royal thing we follow is all about continuance, what better way to show it than three generations in one picture. I think these photos will stand time very well.
These photos mark a special time of the Bernadotte dynasty. Both ladies, I will refer to the little jewel, Princess Estelle, as a lady here. She is an amazing child. Father, daughter, granddaughter, three generations, king, crown princess and second in line. This is a historic moment and complaints about dresses are out of line.
They're comments not complaints - people are entitled to make them. I fail to see what is "out of line" about commenting on the dresses either positively or negatively when this is a site showcasing royal fashion.
Out of line. They are our observations and personal opinions. It is fine if you don't like them, but that doesn't prohibit one from stating their personal opinions. Sorry.

It looks like on the photo without Estelle she i just shopped out of the photo, it looks like it is just twice the same pic the only difference is Estelle.

ReplyDeleteI wish Estelle's dress had not been SO shiny. It distorts the picture and hurts your eyes looking at it.

ReplyDeleteThe Swedish royaly familiy are so great. All of them ar so common, so sweet and naturnal. Scaninaviens love them :)
ReplyDeleteLovely photos - the dress does make Victoria look a little busty but I love the colour and the overall staging of the photos.

Agree. Estelle's dress is horrible. Strange because she usually wears very nice.

ReplyDeleteToo childish? The child is 5 years old.I know it is silk, but I do agree too shiny for photos. Might look better in person.

DeleteUm, this is a fashion blog so I'm amazed that commenting on the clothes is considered out of line.
