On February 28, 2018, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William, Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle attended the first annual Royal Foundation Forum held at Aviva in London. Under the theme 'Making a Difference Together', the event showcase the programmes run or initiated by The Royal Foundation. |
Kate sure loves blue, doesn't she?
ReplyDeleteShe has a nice pregnancy glow would love to see her in pastel colours..because once when she has had her baby she would again become thin
Thank goodness Meghan has stepped her game 😛 I suppose she had to if she was making an appearance with Kate.
The duchess again looks just wow ... one more pretty maternity dress ...
ReplyDeleteAgree!

DeleteMeghan's dress is fashionable but also appropriate. I really like it. Great rich deep blue color and fabric with luxurious weight. Catherine's dress is fine and she is so clearly in the last stage of pregnancy (she seems to have grown since yesterday!) that I'm not surprised she turned to a maternity style she has worn before.
ReplyDeletekate looks really tired. and meghan seems to put on her actress face to hide her real feelings
ReplyDeleteHow do you figure what her "real feelings are" , how can you even make that affirmation from some pictures under hundreds of flashes on her face? Different opinions about fashion are OK, also we all have preferences about public personalities, but please, stop making hateful assumptions about this woman, there is a difference between respectful critique, and trolling.
DeleteCatherine looks great, appropriately dressed for these last few weeks, and the color suits her very well.
DeleteI find Meghan increidibly chic, love the style, hair and makeup on point, the choice of a sleeveless dress at this time of year, looks a little odd, specially amongst the sea of winter clothes, but nevertheless, she looks lovely
Amen Cherry Blossom! 💯 agree! On all you said!
Deletewhat a nasty comment, hide her feeling from what, she is glowing my dear!!
DeleteCherry Blossom, do you really think the sentence "Meghan seems to put on her actress face" is a hateful assumption? I do not think so. I find that "hateful" is a much too strong word.
DeleteCoralie, I do believe that the implication is hateful. The comment suggests that her "real feelings" must be somehow sinister, that she is pretending and faking to be pleased. How can a person know the feelings of a total stranger? How would you feel, If you were at a function doing your best, and somebody accused you of basically being a hypocrite? . I still think that the comment was judgmental, baseless and unkind.
DeleteCherry Blossom, I just interpret the comment in another way. I do not understand "real feelings" in the sense of sinister or fake feelings. Probably Martina wanted to say that Meghan might have "mixed feelings", that she might feel somewhat nervous or insecure.
DeleteIf it was that way, I would understand. Meghan used to lead an independent life on her own, and she grew up with the american "Hands-on"-mentality, being pragmatic and so on. Now she has to learn quite complicated rules of the english court. For example, who has to curtsy when and why. If Catherine and William appear together at an event, Camilla must curtsy to Catherine. If Catherine appears alone, then she must curtsy to Camilla. (That is what my british collegues told me and all of us are sure: were we in that position, we would need a database-program for these rules!)
So I would not be surprised if Meghan gets a little nervous now and then and puts on her actress face. Anyway - Letizia for example learned the even more complicated rules of the spanish court and as Meghan will never be queen the pressure is not that strong. She will manage that.
I fully agree with you Cherry BlossomMarch 2, 2018 at 9:23 AM
DeleteI`m sad and disapointed about the position of sophisticated people.
Realizing a mistake and apologize is very difficult. Very few people
are able to do that. ....sorry about my English....
Meghan looks gorgeous! I love everything about her appearance, the hair, the dress, the shoes. She starts to feel how to pair her own style with this new role. I wish Kate would wear öncélú something similar to Meghan's outfit. That would look good on her. But I guess it's just not her style. She prefers conventional dresses.
ReplyDeleteNice to see them all together. Catherine looks nice although a bit tired, what of course is no wonder. Meghan has quite a summery outfit to such a wintry weather.
ReplyDeleteI might be the only one who doesn´t like Megan´s dress. It´s too shapeless for my liking, with the overlap and the long belt plus the satin material it´s slightly reminiscent of a dressing robe, and the sleeveless look is odd in the midwinter cold (especially as temperatures in Europe are really plunging this week). Also, her shoes are wrong for the occasion in my view, much more of an evening shoe, and as such not really suited for a discussion forum.
ReplyDeleteKate is dressed better although her dress looks terribly small on her.
Agree Vanessa!!
DeleteYou are not the only one who does not like Meghans dress!
DeleteI am with you - this dress is not for Meghan, it really swamps her.
DeleteKate's slumping posture is what makes her look even more tired, but being pregnant gives her a pass.
Vanessa you are right about the dress and shoes on Meghan. However, this is a step forward from rip jeans, buggy trousers and constant black clothing.😂
DeleteI agree with everything you said!
ReplyDeleteMegan's hair are to long and to slovenly.
ReplyDeleteSlovenly is a bit strong - I think she styles it deliberately messy.
DeleteI think both women look lovely. The Duchess certainly looks wonderful in this pregnancy, the weight gain clearly suits her but we know she will lose it quickly after she gives birth. I think Meghan is dressed appropriately and I heard her speak and she sounds like she really is confident. This must be quite a new experience for her and she could not be blamed if she was overwhelmed but she seems to have a good handle on it. I think the 4 will make a great team but I am sure we will have the inevitable comparisons between the two ladies for some time to come. In my opinion, I actually think the Duchess looked a little more uncomfortable than Ms. Markle.
ReplyDeleteAgree, well said.
DeletePaying attention to the value of "making a difference" is their mothers legacy,
imo. I´m curious what they will have achieved in 5 years.
Catherine looks perfect and lovely as women is being pregnant.Meghan has fancy dress but not appropiate clothes and especially shoes (it 's winter with snow in London !).Yes,it looks great but she looks as Hollywood actress not future duchess...:(
ReplyDeletecatherine looks perfect?? gosh why, meghan is dressed like all european princess, one word modern and chic!!!
DeleteMegan should hire a stylist and learn how to do something with her hair.
ReplyDeletei agree, hair to long.
DeleteThe only thing I like about Meghan's dress is the color. She seems to like things that wrap (i.e. her engagement coat, her xmas coat, etc,) and now this dress. It looks baggy. Her hair looks straggly. I feel she needs to get a more polished look. Catherine looks great.
ReplyDeleteAgree
DeleteSo sad to be reading all these hateful comments about Meghan. I understand if you don't like something about her outfit but please don't be hateful! I really am sorry for her because ever since the engagement happened she is being criticized for everything. Her shoes, her hair etc. It's okay if you don't like it but please be reasonable. You don't like her shoes because it's winter? Take a look at Catherine's shoes. She's not wearing boots either. You don't like Meghan's hair? Take a look at Catherine's hair who looks like she forgot to comb her hair.( of course she did comb her hair not saying it to be mean towards the Duchess)
ReplyDeleteOnce I read a comment in this blog about Meghan, that unfortunately she will always get hate because she will never be good enough compared to Catherine who is an english girl and there always be comparism between the two lady. I guess I'm just tired of these huge Catherine fan base who can't get over that Meghan is not Catherine, she is another person with different taste and she is trying hard to satisfy everybody. I like that she didn't start to copy Catherine but she is trying to keep her individual taste.
"All these hateful comments"...? What an exaggeration. I do not read any "hate" in any comment here.
DeleteLarina i totally understand what you are saying. Meghan is the new girl, and different from other royals, so she was bound to be criticized. However, she has not been doing herself any favors, her style has been off compared to her times as an actress.
DeleteMaybe Meghan needs to get more advice as to how to dress for her upcoming new position. I think the American style of Meghan's dressing may be a bit more casual than what is expected of a senior member of the royal family. As Catherine may very well be queen one day, she must take a more conservative approach to dress, and it also may be that her personal style is more conservative. As an American, I wish that we would all take more care in our appearance, casual seems to be the norm here in the States. I would hate to see that Meghan would fall into the "Ugly American" persona, because we have different customs and what is appropriate for dressing. I just think she needs an advisor for her new position in life.
DeleteLarina; hateful comments about Meghan??? Where? I red all comments twice and cannot see any, all comments are about her clothes and shoes here. The thing that we all do not love the clothes in every single thread is not at all "hate".
DeleteLarina Perhaps you are a little too sensitive about the comments on Meghan. I haven't read anything here that is "hateful" just others opinions about fashion hair etc. after all it is a blog about Royal fashion so I guess that sums it up. No one has said anything untoward re Meghan there is nothing wrong with saying they don't like the dress or comments about her hair. We comment about all the fashion on this blog as that's what it is!!!! A fashion vlog
DeleteKate's outfits are always more severe than Meghan's. William is a future king and therefore his wife has more important role, so she heas to wear those classic clothes. Meghan can relax.
ReplyDeleteCatherine's posture looks almost uncomfortable.I think the problem is heels. She looks better in flats or not so high heels.
I like both outfits btw. They all look lovley.
Well said, Lassie.
Deletemeghan looks chic, modern. confident, a win for me!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletej'aime beaucoup Meghan ; elle apporte beaucoup de fraîcheur à la famille royale
ReplyDeletei promis to not compare Megan with Catherine or with lady di.
ReplyDeleteIt is dark winter here, n usually wear darker colours... pastels r usually held back for the Spring. Spring may come!!
ReplyDeleteThey both look good. I think Meghan wears what appeals to her and what she thinks is suitable to the occasion. It would be strange if she immediately had jumped into some cookie-cutter style of what everyone imagined the wife of a prince would wear. It will be fun watching what she wears as she doesn't have the restraints on her that Kate has - as Lassie already pointed out.
ReplyDeleteI agree. She might become even bigger fashion icon than Kate.
DeleteWow, the two couple certainly have totally different clothing style: one pair dresses like their parents and one pair dresses young and modern. Guess who is who? :)
ReplyDeleteWe can see the same photos in the Paris Match. They get along very well and laugh a lot. They don't have the same roles and duties, the same budget either. They are not at the same place but that doesnt mean they hate each other.
ReplyDeleteBritish four Royals look wonderful.
