Today was the funeral day of Prince Henrik who died at the age of 83. In the morning, one minute's silence took place in the Danish Parliament and afterwards, a special funeral service was held at Christiansborg Palace Church. Danish royal family members, Prince Henrik's family, Danish government representatives and guests attended the funeral service held at Copenhagen Christiansborg Palace Church. Prince Henrik died at the age of 83 in Fredensborg Castle on February 13. |
Queen Margrethe is a wonderful lady - so much dignity at a difficult time.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Benedikte?
ReplyDeletegroupe pic behind CP Frederik
DeleteI saw her in several photos on other sites. Not in the front though, but immediately behind. Almost blocked in the photos.
DeleteHere's one of the pix I found of Benedikte.

Yup, there is a photo now (no. 7) that wasn't there earlier
DeleteIt seems a little strange to ask for Benedikte, she doesn't belong to the nearest family during this time of sorrow and has lived in Germany since 1968. Moving to see Prince Henrik's grandchildren attend the ceremony.
DeleteNot strange at all to ask for her. She's been a constant support to her royal sister, they seem very close to each other, regardless of her being in Germany for quite some time. Benedikte and Anne-Marie are the closest relatives to Queen Margrethe except her own children and grand-children.
DeleteTerribly sad. Her face on the steps just gutted me 😢 may he Rest on Peace and be at peace long last.
ReplyDeleteVery sad, beautiful, dignified and solemn ceremony.
ReplyDeleteRIP Henrik. Condolences to the family. My heart was breaking looking at Marie and Joachim. Glad they have each other's comfort to lean on.
Yes. I was quite shocked to see him coming out of the car and taking ages to climb the steps, even though he was helped by an equerry and Queen Anne-Marie.

ReplyDeleteYes, she is a sister to the Queen and if you are Danish/Swedish you surely know her well ?
Sorry, but I don't find it most important between the very few pictures (!!!) exposed here to find and show one she is in. Different opinions…… that's all ! ;-)
My condolences, Prince Hendrick of Denmark.
