On November 22, 2017, King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended the 34th Francisco Cerecedo journalism Award Ceremony at the Ritz Hotel in Madrid. The Cerecedo Prize is a journalistic award presented by the Association of European Journalists in Spain to writers, who have distinguished themselves especially by their journalistic work. This year journalist Florencio Domínguez was the 34th recipient of the prize. |
Nice legs queen Letizia! She looks ready to dance the Charleston
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress but too short for a woman of her age, specially if she is a Queen. May be if the dress had one more ruffle It would be better.
ReplyDeleteFlattering makeup and hair once again.
It definitely is too short for her, but one more ruffle would not look good. It was made to look this way, just not on a 45-year old queen at a formal event.
Deleteohhh!!! whats wrong with a bit of fun... Ritzy is exactly what it is...Queen or not. she has style beauty and yes legs to die for... lighten up people.
DeleteYikes, a bit too short for an official event, though she looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteLetizia looks nice but.... She looks like she is heading off to a roaring 20's party. Hardly appropriate for a journalism award ceremony. This one is a fail for me.
ReplyDeleteMimi#1
too short and inappropriate for the event, her hair is maaahvalous!!
ReplyDeleteshe's going through her second childhood
DeleteAlleen al de datum maakt deze outfit bespottelijk.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nightie to me.
ReplyDeleteI am a great supporter of Letizia, but this time I must say: This dress is too short. Of course she looks fabulous. She can wear it! BUT it is not appropriate for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fancy nighty. Totally inappropriate. Another tier would have made it more decent but not more attractive.
ReplyDelete..over the Top....
ReplyDeleteI have to add my opinion to those already expressed as to the length of this dress. It's a lovely dress, but far TOO SHORT considering that Letizia is 45 years old and the Queen of Spain. If she was 19 years old, I would say it was okay.
ReplyDeleteEven if she were 19/ it would be wrong for the time of the year and occasion.
DeleteWow! Agree with comments above.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's far too short (it would look a bit too short on her daughters!) but I disagree that it's a "lovely" dress. It looks like a costume.
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful but this is a rare fail for her.
Yes, It would be too short on her daughters!
DeleteThis dress was worn by a twelve-year-old Spanish actress, Ivana Vaquero, at the presentation if the film "Pan's Labyrinth" at the Cannes Film Festival un 2006
Ivana Baquero wore this dress with black leggins
DeleteYes, It would be too short on her daughters!
DeleteThis dress was worn by a twelve-year-old Spanish actress, Ivana Vaquero, at the presentation if the film "Pan's Labyrinth" at the Cannes Film Festival un 2006
Excuse me, the correct surname if this actress is Baquero.
Delete"Just because you could doesn't mean you should" comes to mind here. She looks amazing, but she should save the dress for a holiday in Majorca. The other attendees are way more formal and serious looking than this dress portrays.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm.... her tiara just slipped
ReplyDeleteThis is so not appropriate for a Queen!
If she was at a private costume party as a flapper then ok
But oh no Letizia.... you rarely slip but this is a BIG NADA
I think this is entirely undignified. I know that sounds judgmental, but I am really just blown away. Fashion-wise, I don't think I will be able to take her seriously, ever again. p.s. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to say that your comment not only sounds judgmental, it IS judgmental.
DeleteI must agree..too short. Even if she was 19. And its not even appropriate for the ocassion. This event requires something more formal.
DeleteThis site is all about being judgemental.
DeleteOh my god, this is the most embarrassing dress I've seen Leti in for years. Too short, too youthful and completely wrong for the context.Does she go through a life crisis ? Sure she looks good, but if you're queen, you do not have to ask for confirmation that you're sexy from an entire world.
ReplyDeleteHorrible.
ReplyDeleteno outfit for a queen.
ReplyDeleteLa reina Letizia está bellísima. El vestido es un poco corto, sí, pero no indecente, en absoluto. Es una fiesta nocturna.
ReplyDeleteSorry Letizia, not a good choice for a queen, although you can wear it at a beach party.
ReplyDeleteWhat??? I can't believe my eyes!! I wish I had never seen this!
ReplyDeleteElle a le corps et les jambes pour se le permettre, mais je trouve quand même la robe un peu courte. On dirait que ça lui enlève un peu d'élégance.
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no, no, no, no, no.....!!!!
ReplyDeleteAs a Catalan person, I disagree with the King's politics, that being said, I think Letizia looks amazing and I applaud her for wearing an outfit that makes her feel and look great.
ReplyDeleteKtech,I am from Catalonia too. Don't speak in my name nor in the name of other catalan people who don't share your opinions about the King of Spain.
DeleteIn the other hand, this is a fashion blog. There are many political blogs to express your opinions, stop your manipulation.
I'm also Catalan and subscribe what María says.
DeleteYawn!
DeleteNo esperábamos menos de ti. Yo no soy catalana, aunque viví allí 6 años maravillosos y suscribo las palabras de María y Saku.
DeleteVete a bostezarle a los fugados.
She has the legs and body but as stunning and well preserved as she is, she is clearly a middle-aged woman and this is a dress for someone at least half her age.
ReplyDeleteNormally, I think she dresses wonderfully and also normally I don't really bother about "rules" and diktats about people's ages and clothes but I just don't think this works on Letizia.
Although, as a dress I actually like it.
Is it me or has she been looking more busty recently?
Je me suis demandée la même chose, est-ce le modèle du haut de la robe ou autre chose? On dirait en effet qu'elle a plus de poitrine, du moins sur ces clichés.
DeleteOui, mais je l'avais remarquée l'autre jour aussi.
DeleteFlapper, babydoll, lampshade... Take your pick.
ReplyDeleteTotally inappropriate at any occasion for a queen.
Otherwise she looks amazing
Very beautiful and sexy but too short and unappropriate for the event. She is not a movie star, she is a queen. Lack of justement.
ReplyDeleteLack of judgement.
DeleteI've been coming back to this because the comments are so entertaining. Here's one more: I realized there's a "Pretty Woman" vibe to this look. Not something that's desirable when you are a queen.
ReplyDeleteLetizia's dress would look better on either of her daughters. This dress is much more age appropriate and better suited to tweens and teens.
ReplyDeleteleti rocks, shes georgeous!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteshe looks georgeous, she can pull this off, leti obviously takes very good care of herself, she looks 28 years!!
ReplyDeleteAccording to the local press:
ReplyDeletehttp://informalia.eleconomista.es/informalia/actualidad/noticias/8763929/11/17/La-Reina-se-sube-a-la-campana-El-largo-de-mi-falda-NO-te-dice-que-si-acortando-su-vestido-al-limite.html

she has joined in a Campaign organized by the Sevilla City Council as a part of ongoing efforts on the struggle against violence towards women. Tomorrow will be the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women”. Apparently, it´s been a way of drawing attention of public opinion. I would like an official source to tell the public whether it is true or not.But if it is true the question is whether a Queen needs to be involved in campaign like this. To me, I have my doubts, maybe it is going too far, though I recognize that it is a courageous act.
Amazingly enough, Vogue and Vanity Fair have come out in favour of the outfit, from the point of view of fashion, and Teresa Hebig, the designer, is delighted with the promotion. Queen Letizia may be a step ahead of the times, but this outfit seems to me to be far too risky.
In any case, she has a wonderful figure, hair and complexion. I think we're going to see a social trend to increase fitness.
I want to clarify I am completely in favour of the campaign and its objectives. The campaign is called “The length of my skirt does not say yes”
ReplyDeleteSilvia, that is an interesting possible reason for the short skirt!
ReplyDeleteAs a member of a women's' organization that is actively supporting this International Day against violence towards women I really applaud Letizia if she is publicly supporting this campaign. But I'm still not convinced that wearing this dress to that event is really appropriate.
I agree completely with you.
DeleteOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this an outfit for a queen ???? Inappropriate for her royal title .... her age and her body !!! Disappointing look !!!
