In the evening of November 20, 2017, Prince William, Duchess Catherine of Cambridge and Prince Harry and other members of the royal family attended Queen Elizabeth II's and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh's 70th wedding anniversary dinner at Windsor Castle in Windsor, England. |
Black is terrible color to her, makes her look tired and sick.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you both.
DeleteAfter all this time - she has not seem bonded to the Royal Family or spend enough time to perfect the grandeur of 'being Royal'.
Well, she was photographed when sitting? and on the middle seat, too. It means that the neckline was not in the right place, it moved up. When she is standing or sits down at the table arranging her dress, the pearls should look just right.
DeleteThat's a good point, Marina.
DeleteHer Grandma in-law's wedding anniversary dinner and she's wearing black??? ouch....another colour would have been better.
ReplyDeleteKatie Middleton purchase expensive clothes for the few engagements she is forced to attend for 30 minutes but wear an aging, similar gown to one she wore a several days ago to such an Important Happy Milestone for the The Queen and Duke.
DeleteThere is no Katie Middleton anymore, you are offensive. What I saw other pictures of this celebration, all ladies pictured were dressed black.
DeleteEna, would you prefer that the Duchess (I believe that is who you mean) purchased a new maternity evening gown which won't fit for long? Perfectly sensible to wear one she already has that currently fits her. I doubt the Queen and the Duke's Important Happy Milestone would be made any happier if they knew people were carping about their guests.
DeleteEver hear of the little black dress? Black is the color of evening occasions. Nothing is wrong with black and I think she looks sophisticated in black. She looks fine to me, not tired or sick, but glowing.
ReplyDeleteThat is so true, Karen! A black dress is elegant, festive, ladylike. And Catherine looks wonderful. Her appearance is appropriate and classy.
DeleteI agree KarenAR... she looks lovely! She is completely appropriately dressed for the dinner. And I find she is doing quite well in the area of "grandeur" .....
DeleteAgree!
DeleteAgree with Diane and Masha
DeleteShe looks elegant and happy and that dress is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteBlack is not a color that flatter her.
ReplyDeleteCatherine is very pretty and her green eyes are striking. This gown seems to be a go-to for Catherine during this pregnancy. The Queen and Diana wore lower necklines so as not to interfere with this particular necklace. Thank you for including the old photo of Diana, Hellen. It's exquisite.
ReplyDeleteBlack is not a color that flatter her.
ReplyDeleteShe could have wore another color.
ReplyDeleteShe could have worn another dress just because she already wore this dress recently, just few weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteSo?
DeleteIt is a beautiful dress and it suits her, why not wear it again?
DeleteIf she had worn a new dress people would be saying she spends too much money and why spend on a "family dinner" blah blah blah
DeleteShe looks great! Maybe it makes her happy and fits well at this stage in her pregnancy. So what if she wears it again and again and again. At least she takes care of her hair and doesn't wear plastic clips in her hair... oy
PS
Deleteor too long too big black pants to every other event
Catherine repeats clothing she likes. She is actually quite sensible and frugal that way compared to some others. She also wore this dress when she was pregnant with Charlotte. Aside from the neckline not being quite right for the necklace, it seems fine to me.
DeleteNobody knows the dress code, therefore there's nothing to criticize.
ReplyDeleteShe looks great as always, although black and pearls aren't really my favorite. Finally a bit Victorian....
Very interesting to see the same piece of jewellery and how it was and is being worn by three different women.
