King Willem-Alexander's and Queen Maxima's visit to Netherlands Antilles

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands visit Sint Eustatius, Saba and Sint Maarten islands located in the Caribbean region of the Kingdom between the dates of November 30 and December 2, Saturday. On the first day of their Caribbean visit, the King and the Queen visited Sint Eustatius island. The King and the Queen will visit Saba island on December 1 for Saba Day celebrations, and Saint Martin island on December 2. The purpose of that visit is to monitor reconstruction works on the island after the destruction caused by Hurricane Irma.

    I can't believe Queen Máxima wears such horrible sandals. They would be better to stay at home or to go to the beach. What kind of material are they made of? Something like denim?

    Oy ...and if it were not for her hat it is clear her hair is also looking ratty ... dress is great ~ but those sandals? Tsk tsk Maxima you are not hanging at pool or beach. WOW

    Love the dress, and the hat, although a little too much, being in such sunny place it has its purpose, but the sandals?? Only excuse would be if she has some sort of injury on her feet.

    How I love this dress! It's real work of art, much too dignified for such sandals. The hat is a good match though.

    When Maxima is flying all over the world with a very busy schedule I am understanding these sandals. It is practical and it is human. Not always my taste, but when I see other royals she is always looking great.
