After the official announcement of Clarence House today, which stated that Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle got engaged in early November, Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle became an official couple in November 2017. After that announcement, Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle met with members of the media at Sunken Garden in Kensington Palace. The couple will get married in Spring 2018. |
They look very happy. Congratulations to both!

ReplyDeleteThe white coat is stunning, professional, and a break from the usual blue. Absolutely
divine and glamorous!
Sadly, the press conference was held outdoors so we could not see what she was wearing under the coat. The engagement dresses are usually very nice! Her shoes looked to big in a video I saw, and her legs are so skinny! Looking forward to the wedding!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly look happy together. Elin, I agree. She has the skinniest (and oddest shaped calves) legs.
DeleteShould be interesting with timing between 3rd baby Cambridge and the wedding.
Best wishes to the lovely couple.

ReplyDeleteThey look adorable together, radiating happiness. This world needs some good news! Her coat is great--elegant and suits London weather. The ring is lovely. Nice that he used two of his Mother's diamonds and the center diamond is from Botswana where they went on safari.
ReplyDeleteAs I am an American, just curious, will Megan have to give up her American citizenship before or once she marries Harry?
ReplyDeleteI believe she can be a dual citizen of both countries.
DeleteAre you sure ? In the other Royal Family they give up their nationality. The 2 Maries from Damenark, even the queen’s husband did.
DeleteI'm not totally sure, but I'm fairly certain she can have both citizenships.
DeleteIf it weren't the royal family she was marrying into, she would keep. As she will become a princess of the British royal house (and HRH!), I'm pretty sure the American passport will be dropped! :)
DeleteI think she has. A royal title is only given to a person with citizenship in the country. I mean, that's why Chris O'Neill didn't become a Swedish Duke, when he married Princess Madeleine, he would not give up his American- English citizenship (?).
DeleteThe Swedish Royal house has different rules. From what I understand, in order for Chris O'Neill to be granted a Swedish dukedom he would have to renounce working and making a living privately, and he would have to live in the Kingdom full-time. He didn't want to do that apparently.
DeleteThis is the BEST news!!! I'm so happy for both of them. What a gorgeous couple they make. Look at their happiness...they are going to be such an awesome couple!
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to find out if he has to renounce his claim in the line of succession for marrying a catholic.
ReplyDeleteThat law was changed. It is no longer necessary to renounce a place in the line of succession to the British throne if you marry a Catholic. Also, Meghan's religion has never been officially stated, as far as I know. Her Father, Thomas Markle, is Episcopalian, which is closely connected to the Anglican Church in England. She did go to a private Catholic School but that does not guarantee that you are Catholic in the US.
DeleteFinally! I am thrilled! I see these two doing amazing work together! So very happy for them.
ReplyDeleteThey seem very happy -and me too- congratulations to both.
ReplyDeleteWonderful news - they are so madly in love. She looks fabulous - love the styling of the coat.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes! They look so happy - great to see.
DeleteYes, Denmark is a good example that she'll probably have to give up american citizenship. Also in Sweden that was one of the reasons why Chris O'Neill declined royal title because he should have hold swedish citizenship in order to get royal title.
ReplyDeleteWhy would British law be anything like other countries? She will likely not have to give up her citizenship since Autumn Philips did not when she married Peter who is the Queen's grandson and is in the line of succession to the British throne.
DeleteI think Meghan is gorgeous. I've read some mean comments about her in differencia blogs and it's so sad. She is beautiful, highly educated. Yes, she is divorced but that happens quite often nowadays. It doesn't mean she is a bad person. The most important thing that she loves Harry you can clearly see that and they are so happy together. So let's be happy for them ;)
ReplyDeleteOf course it does not mean she is a bad person! A divorce is nothing unusual nowadays. But I am not sure how she will cope with the life that is waiting for her as Prince Harrys wife. Meghan seems to be an intelligent, independent woman, leading her own life. Will she fit in strict rules? They look so happy in the pictures, I hope, it will last...
DeleteAgree.
DeleteWatching the full interview they gave to the BBC reinforced how good they are for each other. She makes Harry happy. And they will do wonderful things together as a team. They are on the same page. Those with their negative comments re her ethnicity, etc. should be ignored. As for her being divorced, well three of the Queen's four children are divorced. And since this is a fashion blog -- she was dressed beautifully and classically in these two first official appearances.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for them, they look so much in love. She is gorgeous and her ring is beautiful
ReplyDeleteCompletely different reception to this news compared to last time an American divorcée married into the BRF!
ReplyDeleteAll the best for the future!
That's the understatement of the year haha!
DeleteI also love her opal and gold earrings. Very classic design.
ReplyDeleteAnd now she'll have to start beginning to be 'royal'. Would be nice if she didn't have to shove her hair out of her face, ala Duchess of Cambridsge. And no more ripped jeans, mini shorts, etc. She seems a lovely woman and Harry is besotted. They're gonna make it last if only to silence the critics.
ReplyDeletewhy such a long hair, it is not herr personel hair, so she can cut it 30cm
ReplyDeleteI hope she will lose the "American" way of speaking, and speak more slowly. And I think she came across in the BBC interview a bit forceful. Kate was more demure in the way she spoke during her engagement interview. I do hope she adopts the American version of Received Pronunciation. I did read somewhere that the Queen may not like the way she speaks, don't know if that is the case. But she will certainly have to learn quite a bit of new rules!
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me how such different impressions can result from the same event. I found Meghan's voice to be clear and her words and answers articulate. I found Harry's answers to be thoughtful and intelligent but his voice is muffled and he speaks very fast. I had a hard time catching everything he said. What may seem forceful to some just seemed confident and happy to me. And Meghan is quite a few years older than Catherine was when she got engaged.
DeleteIt puzzles me that anyone would think that Meghan should lose her American accent. Why? Her speech may change as she lives in the U.K. over time. This happened to Australian Princess Mary in Denmark but she still has an Australian tone and no one minds.
I didn't mean any disrespect in my comment about Meghan losing the American accent. I am an American from the north east, and hate it when people say they can tell where I am from. It is just my personal opinion that RP, whether it be British or American, sounds much better. I love the way the Duchess of Cambridge speaks, which is much different than William or Harry.
DeleteUnderstand. It's just interesting how one voice can create such different Impressions. That's what makes the world go around!
DeleteMeghan was born in August 1981 and Catherine January 1982, what do you mean Meghan is a few years older?
DeleteI believe she was referring to the age Catherine was when she got engaged which was about 5 years ago as opposed to Meghan's age now.
DeleteYes, thank you, Linda K. Catherine was 28 when she got engaged. Meghan is 36. Different level of maturity.
DeleteQue casal maravilhoso e com um ar super feliz :)). Parabéns a ambos e Mrs. Meghan ....simples e maravilhosa :)
