Queen Rania visited the 'Queen Rania Teacher Academy' where she met members of the second cohort of the Teacher Education Professional Diploma (TEPD), who started their program orientation on October 8. The TEPD was established by Queen Rania Teacher Academy to equip new teachers with necessary skills and to empower them to excel in the classroom based on the latest developments in teaching and education. |
It is too bad all the educated women have headscarves. It is like going back to the Middle Ages. I wonder if the queen is/will be pressured to dress similarly?
ReplyDeleteAnd it's worrying to think of the values that these women will be giving to their students. Will their students get a choice in how to dress?
DeleteTimes are changing. Saudi Arabia allows women to drive a car now.
DeleteSome of those women, if not the majority, wear those scarves through choice. I think the fact that they work in the field they do speaks for itself.
DeleteJordan is more of the Western world of the middle east. Jordanian women like most muslim women now have a choice to wear a hijab, Her Majesty does wear one only on the occasions like when visiting her later father in law HM King Hussein's tomb. Most women of the JRF dont wear the hijab you will find Princess Fahdah(Prince Hashim bin Hussein's wife) wearing one.
DeleteCoralie, don’t hold your breath. Woman may be able to drive, but they still need to be accompanied by a male relative and I don’t see the men agreeing to get rid of the monkey suits women have to wear.
DeleteHonestly - the women still need to be accompanied by a male relative? I did not know that. So the progress is very small... but better a very small progress than none.
DeleteBeautiful outfit. It's strange to see her hair like this. Where was her hairdresser today?
ReplyDeleteAgree, outfit is very good and smile is a great feature. Shoulder bag is gorgeous. Hair needs to lose 4-6 inches or more;; unattractive at this length to me.c
DeleteI loved it and liked her hair this way but definitely not the norm for her!
