Interesting changes for this family! Princess Charlene's change in hairstyle and makeup is so welcome and sweet. Goodbye to that hard look of the manly hair and bright-red lipstick. Prince Albert is taking on his father's mustache and a more settled look, too. Gabriella has a very wise look to her, like she knows far more than you would expect for her years. And Jacques seems just a nice little boy, not too concerned about much. I notice his arm bones are much longer than his sister's. Maybe he will be a very tall man.
I hope Charlene and Albert haven't gone over to the "let the kids decide if they want to be a boy or girl". Prince Jacques has the same hairstyle like his sister, even pulled back and braided in the back. They are even dressed alike. Not cool. I hate the man bun or braids for men, etc. A guy should look like a guy! But then I am of the age when girls looked like girls and men looked like men, there was no looking at a person and you didn't know what you were looking at. You always knew. Love Charlene's hair by the way. The little longer short hair is very good on her. Albert does have a mustache going on there, but it is gray so you can't hardly tell unless you look close.
KarenAR, totally agree with you about the nonsense of letting a child "decide" if they are a girl or boy. Their DNA already says if they are a boy or girl. This gender nonsense is just the latest silly fad that unfortunately is going to hurt a lot of innocent children in the years ahead.
Agree. The gender nonsense has gotten way out of control. I don´t see a problem with boys (or men) with a bit longer hair (it doesn´t need to be extremely short), but braids? Men buns? Girly things for boys so they can explore their feminine side? Grown women in suits and ties just to make a point about equality? ... You should be able to tell whether a kid is a girl or a boy, or a grown person a man or a woman. And even if young kids refuse to wear especially girly or boyish things, there is an abundance of neutral clothing and styles available to allow for personal preferences and expression yet still not mess up people´s gender identity.
Strict gender roles have also destroyed many lives, now and in the past. BTW here's a seventeenth century guy, back when 'men looked like men'... ;) https://i.pinimg.com/originals/f7/65/80/f76580c12a51aa549366de8eb610645a.jpg
I agree here with Lisa. Also what we now keep "manly and feminine" are just results of very narrow time. For example pink and long hair were very manly in the past. I have no problem men having long or braided hair, what matters is only in what condition hair is to be becoming, not particularly sex.
I think new hairstyle of Princess Charlenne, suits her very much. On the contrary, I don´t think her outfit is appropiate for the occasion: it must have, according to the kind of event, and due to the time of the day be more cheerful, with light colours.
Nowadays we luckily have different concepts of "male" and "female". That a boy has long hair and a girl short hair does not mean they are not aware of being a boy or girl. To what extent the gender discussion is useful and to what extent it is nonsense depends on your personal point of view. I for one am glad that we discuss it at all.
I'm also not a fan of young boys with girlish hairstyles. I don't particularly like the braid in Jacques hair. However it is totally up to his parents to choose how they want their children to be dressed etc. it's just my personal opinion that I like boys to have short and neat hair. They are both gorgeous little children though. As for Albert's moustache don't think it suits him
I don't think I have ever seen Prince Albert with a mustache.
ReplyDeleteI think Charlene's hair is much better... The children are so cute!

DeleteCute kids.
ReplyDeleteIm sorry, does Albert have a mustage? 😕
I love the softer hairstyle on Charlene. She looks fabulous. I do not like Albert's moustache though.
ReplyDeleteDoes Jacques have a pony tail? His hair is pulled back like a girl's.
ReplyDeleteGabriella looks a little bit like Princess Estelle of Sweden in that 2nd photo.
ReplyDeleteI thought she looked a lot like princess Athena of Denmark.
DeleteI thought she looked a lot like princess Athena of Denmark.
DeleteNot the least little bit
DeleteWow! Such amazing beautiful babies.
ReplyDeletetoo sweet for words. I hope Crown Prince Jacques have a little "man" bun hair style!!! The twins are adorable.
ReplyDeleteI love Charlene´s hair here. She looks so good in more feminine hair style.
ReplyDeleteNormally I wouldn't like the black but Charlene carries it off - the contrast with her hair is great.
ReplyDeleteThe twins are cute although I'm not a fan of Jacques's hair like this.
Albert's moustache - not sure...
Heavens, talk about sexism and gender stereotypes! Cropped hair on a woman is "manly" and longer hair on a male child is "girly". Yikes!
ReplyDeleteAlbert looks a bit bizzare with moustache. But the change in hairstyle of Charlene is great.
ReplyDeleteTwins are very similar and sweet.
JAMMER DAT ALBERT EEN SNOR HEEFT,IK VIND HET NIET GOED STAAN,MAAR WIE BEN IK ,
ReplyDeleteMAAR CHARLENE, EN DE KINDEREN, SCHATJES ,ZE ZIEN ER GOED UIT !!!!
These children are cute, especially Gabriella! Albert Looks more like the Kids grandfather than like their father.
ReplyDeleteHe's 60-years old - most people that age have grandkids older than his twins kids.
DeleteCute kids, and Charlene looks good here- nice hairdo.
