King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel and Prince Carl Philip attend a lunch meeting with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö and his wife Jenni Haukio at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, Sweden. Crown Princess Victoria wore a specially designed dress by Swedish fashion designer Jennifer Blom. |
I do not like very much of any these clothes. But what I do like is that everybody seem to be so happy.
ReplyDeleteMy neighbour is related to Jenni and a hairdresser. I wish Jenni would let that cousin do something to her hair :)
DeleteYou are so right Anja. If she had better hair here she would have looked very good.
DeleteShe looks fantastic !I love the happy, colorful dress which goes together with smart shoes. But the best is her hair. Finally something diffrent than usual, boring .

ReplyDeleteVictor ,laide ,vieille,mal habillée.sans intérêt.
Sans etre laide, elle est loin d'etre belle, ou, comme on dirait chez nous: "elle est belle de loin"
DeleteMerci Lizzie d'enrichir mon vocabulaire.
DeleteI like that they use dresses etc more than once. Victorias dress I rather not see anymore, though.
ReplyDeleteJenni Haukio looks best here. So simple, so elegant.
ReplyDeleteSilvia´s outfit is a bit too neon for my eyes, but apart from that, it´s fine.
Victoria´s dress does nothing for her. Wrong colours, washing her out, dowdy style, unflattering length and while the print itself is not ugly, I´m not sure a dress is the best place to put it, especially when the pleats in the skirt make it impossible to see anything but a patchy mess.
With no doubt I agree with Vanessa's point of view: the most elegant woman is Jenny Haukio, for the simplicity of her outfit.
ReplyDeleteI find the Queen's outfit a bit bright, I like the simple elegance of Ms Haukio's dress. I like the print and pleats of Victoria's dress but don't like the strange sleeve things - I think they detract from the rest of the dress which is otherwise fairly classic in design.
ReplyDeleteThe Finnish President's wife looks very elegant.
ReplyDeleteSilvia is again in one of her too bright and matronly suits.
Victoria's dress is like camouflage - she almost disappears in that fussy room. And I remember that silly swan on the bodice.
The silly swan means a lot to us finns, it is the national bird of Finland. I know, that is why Victoria chose that dress :)
ReplyDeleteI learn something every day! That was a thoughtful way to honor Finland. Victoria's dress is very summery, just the sleeves are sort of silly. She should take her mother shopping for more current-looking outfits.
DeleteA swan in the middle of her chest and a rather busy print and style doesn't do anything for Victoria. Her hair looks the same as always only the bun is a bit different. I'd love to see her with a nice hairdo for a change. The queen is not pretty in pink, a softer color would have been better. Ms. Haukio looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteSorry if I offended with my remark about the swan, however I am Australian/Canadian and would NOT wear a dress with either a kangaroo or a beaver printed on the bodice...
ReplyDeleteOh Heather - your comment made me laugh!!! However, the swan is somewhat more graceful and elegant than a kangaroo or a beaver.
DeleteWell Heather, does not kangaroos have beautiful big eyes with Long lashes? They can look elegant ;-)
