Queen Silvia of Sweden is awarded with The Bavarian Order of Merit (Bayerischer Verdienstorden) at Prinz-Carl-Palais in Munich. At a celebration in Munich on 24 July, this distinction, which is awarded in recognition of outstanding services to the Free State of Bavaria, was presented by Bavarian premier Horst Seehofer. |
Nice-, summery jacket on Mrs. Seehofer.(Where is his girlfriend/mother of his daughter?) I did not know, that the Queen of Sweden has so much done for Bavaria?? She looks radiant.
DeleteI didn't see what happened but I don't understand why did Silvia run after her husband; she could stay and enjoy in spotlight and talk with people. Is this some kind of protocol or was this her decision?
Delete@ rainha Leonor Silvia was an interpreter at the 1972 Munich Olympics when she met Carl Gustaf, and Munich is the capital of Bavaria. 😊
ReplyDeleteNo offense, bit I'm not sure if having a job in Munich in 1972 is worthy of merit.
DeleteLeopold of Bavaria is the godfather of one of her children, probably hás more to do with that.

Queen Silvia and Mrs Seehofer are beautiful, strong, smart ladies. They both look so radiant here.No need to say something about their (cheating) husbands...
ReplyDeleteI disagree. If their husbands are cheating, they should have told them to go to hell. This is 2017! What role models are they?
DeleteSome couples decide they can overcome such problems because of what they have built together. They have no obligation to be role models for anyone else when it comes to those kinds of decisions, IMO. It's personal to them and if they can make it work in spite of infidelity etc. then that's up to them.
DeleteFranny, such a decision may work - in very few cases. In the most cases I think this is lip service and one of the partners (the betrayed one) suffers in silence.
DeleteYou may well be right but I still don't think they should make such decisions in order to set an example to observers - it has to work for them. Presumably, they feel there is something to be gained from the suffering in silence.
DeleteThe queen received the order of merit for long years of outstanding charitywork for children all over the world, not for something, that she did especially for Bavaria.
ReplyDeleteA munich newspaper also wrote that Carl Gustav looked grumpy and was running out of the palace very fast so that Silvia had almost no time for posing and talking to the journalists.
Also when they signed the guestbook, he didn't take time, did it standing. Just Silvia took the time to sit and sign.
The newspaper guessed that he will be at Bayreuthmore more in the middle of attention..
As a bavarian citizen I feel a bit offended about his behaviour.
It would have been nice to see the charity be awarded. The queen founded it bit its a large group of people that makes it happen. The king is always line that. The queen should have said no.
DeleteI have never thought of the king being rude, but you are absolutely right. If he cannot find 2 minutes to properly recognize the importance of the moment, no matter how busy his schedule might be, then that shatters the image I had of him. In my head he was somewhat of an issue exemplary monarch, thoughtful and respectful of everyone around him. I guess no one is perfect, but I am learning new things about him, and I don't particularly like what I am finding out.
DeleteOn Silvia's side, I really like this lady. Not just because she is a queen, but I do believe she is a true woman of character and a lovely mother and grandmother.
