| On July 8, 2017, King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden attended the wedding ceremony of Astrid Bernadotte and Filippo Bruti Liberati in Florence, Italy. Astrid Bernadotte is the daughter of count Bertil and countess Jill Bernadotte. Also, King Carl Gustaf is the godfather of Astrid Bernadotte. It was an exclusive wedding for 200 guests. The wedding took place at Ognissanti church in Florence. King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria went out on the city tour on Florence after the wedding ceremony. |

Very strange looking head piece on the bride.
ReplyDeleteIt's a traditional Swedish crown that most parishes had for the brides that married in their particular church. Look at the crown worn by King Carl Gustaf's sister, Margaretha, at her wedding. Same design.

ReplyDeleteThe gown Victoria is wearing is one she has worn before. She wore it to the pre-wedding dinner of Carl Philip and Sofia. It is a Jenny Packham dress.

ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia looks wonderful! Beautiful hair, town and jewellery. I don't like this tiara Victoria is wearing and her hair isnt her best. The dress is nice though.

ReplyDeleteCan't say the brides ensemble does much for me. I don't particularly like her gown, the object on her head and her hair doesn't look as though it has even been brushed.

ReplyDeleteThe bride seems 'meh' to me. From other comments I understand that the headpiece is traditional. That's the only thing that makes it acceptable. Still underwhelmed by the outfit anyway.
