Guildhall Banquet - King Felipe and Letizia visit England

In the evening of July 13, King Philippe, Queen Letizia and Princess Anne attended the Guildhall banquet hosted by Andrew Parmley, Lord Mayor of the City of London at Guildhall (The ceremonial and administrative centre of the City of London) in London, on the second day of the Spanish King and Queen's three-day state visit.
Queen Letizia wore a Navy blue gown, Diamond necklace, diamond earrings, diamon tiara. Princess Anne tiara and necklace, and wore lace dress

  1. Dropped waist looks good on Princess Anne. Wow, Spanish royals have impeccable taste. This tiara really is perfect for the Queen!

  3. Letizia looks fabulous - again. Love the cut of the dress and the shade of blue. The jewels are fantastic and the simplicity of the dress allows them to really stand out.

Anne's dress is lovely - she really does have a wonderful figure and she also has some fabulous jewellery. I find her hairstyle quite old-fashioned but it's her signature and unlikely to change.

    1. I would have preferred 3/4 length sleeves though

    3. Yes, she should have altered the sleeves. Fabric and colour are beautiful.

  5. Wow, both Anne and Leti looks absolutely smashing in the respective jewels and gowns.
Although minor quibble is that Leti's gorgeous earrings would've paired better with Prussian or Mellario Shell tiara

    1. You took the words right out of my mouth. A gorgeous BLUE gown just cries for the SHELL Tiara and it would be a better match for the stunning earrings. Please Leti, grant your floral tiara a very long holiday, we have seen it often enough.

  6. Beautiful Queen Letizia! Just for once I have to say, the earrings are to much, to heavy today...
As I want to be polite, I do not comment on the style of the Princess Royal. She is very slim and still has full hair, so she could! wear nearly everything fashionwise- and in hairstyles, but...

  7. Letizia is absolutely gorgeous again. The dress is superb and the tiara is stunning. I'm not sure the earrings, while amazing, quite work with the tiara.
Sorry to be a dissenting opinion but I think Anne's dress is far too Disney-princess for someone her age. It looks like something from "Frozen". She would have looked so much better in a more classic and simple style, and in a darker colour perhaps.

    1. I think it's the first time I see her displaying even a tiny bit of cleavage!

    2. I like the big earrings as she's not wearing a necklace. She's gorgeous as usual.

    3. I rather wish she hadn't done that. And in a dress for a debutante...

  9. This shade of blue and the cut of Letizias dress, the neckline is simply WOW!
The tiara is beautiful, the earrings a bit too heavy.

Anne may be a lovely person and she does have a nice figure, but this dress, the long gloves, the hairstyle, sorry, this could be so much better.

  10. I am in love with those earrings, especially since she isn't wearing a necklace, they make a statement. The tiara is lovely and since she is so regal it is almost second place to the earrings.

  11. I think Anne would look much better in the dress of the other woman in blue (wife of the Lord Mayor?). It is more dignified and could easily be adorned with some fancy jewels. For a princess who doesn't usually seem to bother much about fashion, there is probably no way she could compete with Letizia anyway. It would be so nice to see her with a nicer hairstyle. Since she never has it down, why not just cut it?

  12. While I have much admiration for Anne, her remarkable work ethic, her figure, and frugality, I do think once in a while she ought to buy herself a new dress. Even if the dresses she wore 30 or 40 years ago still fit. I love Letizia's dress but don't care for the tiara (delicate and almost whimsical) paired with the earrings (chunky and Art Deco). They are both beautiful but fail to complement one another.

  13. I have never seen Anne smiling so much. Obviously she as well as Charles gets along very well with Felipe and Letizia.

  14. Queen Letizia simply stunning!! The dress is fabulous and nobody seems to know who is the designer? I find the earrings a little too modern, but since she is heavily criticized in Spain for not wearing jewelry, she could have decided to send the wagging tongues a message😄😄😄😄😄

  15. I'm stunned by the Letizia's whole look, for me she looks even better than in red dress on state banquet. This tiara is much more becoming on her, earings are wonderful and the dress is exquisit. Nice to see Anne from time to time.

  16. I think that Letizia's dress is superb, but I think that her earrings are too heavy.

  17. Wow! Letizia looks amazing!

    Those earrings are amazing!

Whilst I love the overall look, I don't think the earrings and the tiara really work together - opposing styles. The earrings themselves are a statement piece and need only be worn alone. These earrings worn with this dress to an event where tiaras weren't being worn would be magnificent.

  18. I'm sure if we went back a decade or so, we'd find Anne wearing the same dress. It seems a little dated, and has an 80's look about it !
Letizia again, looks amazing ! Agree with "it's me', the earings should be worn without a tiara.

  19. Yeah, well, Annabel, it would have been great fun to hear Mr. Lagerfeld's comment about the Princess Royal's outfit... He has always a clear voice about "cases" like this, and I often laughed from my heart!

  20. I can't think of a better outfit for Letizia. The dress is just breathtaking. She wears is extremely well. I even like the mismatched tiara and earrings. Anything too matchy would have been too much. I have to add that her posture is impeccable.

As far as Ann goes, well... starting with the positives: she has a great figure for her age. And has always struck me as the best mannered person, in a genuine way.

Her choice of clothes, on the other hand, is rarely inspired. This outfit is no exception. Something with less than half of the embellishments and a cleaner line would have still stayed on the traditional side or royal outfits, Best nice make her lunch costumy. I know she very much likes to recycle (and this dress may be one she had for years) Anca I truly admire him for that. But this outfit is borderline ridiculous. Her mum has way better taste, in me opinion. Odd how the Queen couldn't pass that onto her only daughter.
