ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful outfit. And it fits her very well. I understand that it's not everyone's taste, but it evokes cultures from the subcontinent and I believe it was a really nice choice.
ReplyDeleteI guess I see what she was aiming at but it's a bit too much - are there butterflies on the skirt? It has overtones of curtains.

DeleteI think she's really pretty in that, especially with the orange accents - for the Queen of Orange. It is evocative of India and the Taj Mahal. She goes from the ridiculous to the sublime, both extremes in two days. The design is a bit odd at that front pleat - it hangs strangely, but all in all, I like it.

But I agree, Blazer and skirt are too much together, I also love Marys kind of combination more.
I appreciate the effort of wearing something to honor the visitor, but I find this outfit inedible, too much of everything, the top is simply ugly. The skirt paired with a cream,orange or honey color top, and different shoes, would have been perfect. I don't think she has put on too much weight, she looks perfectly average for her height, bone structure and age.
