Yesterday, on June 8, 2017, Princess Marie of Denmark presented 2017 "Prix litteraire des Ambassadeurs" award with a ceremony held at French embassy in Copenhagen. Author Scholastique Mukasonga was deemed worthy of this year's "Embassy Literature Award". Scholastique Mukasonga is an author who is of Rwandan origin and lives in France. She has six literary works including "Our Lady of the Nile". (Princess Marie wore an rose-print ruffled silk dress by Giambattista Valli) |
Pattern is interesting, I would have liked this dress without ruffles.
ReplyDeleteI like Marie for a change has something in colour and with details on her dress.
ReplyDeleteI think the author is a 'she' not a 'he' ????
Gianmaria Valli is a man
DeleteTo me, this dress is the kind that you love - on the hanger - but it looks silly on you. Too much is going on with the ruffles and print and odd belt. It's like a child designed it and didn't know when to stop.
ReplyDeleteK Hass - I agree! Far too fussy and it overwhelms her. (It might work for a garden party event or for something in the evening but not for this.)
DeleteAgree!
DeleteAnd me too!
DeleteAgree!
DeleteAgree!
DeleteTalk about retro. I made dresses exactly like this style(different color)for my twins 6th grade chorus concert. They are now 42 years old.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute - and funny! The dress does look retro.
DeleteLooks like a bib.
ReplyDeleteI wish i could buy a bib like that!
DeleteIt would look better on her without the ruffles.
ReplyDeleteBut I like everything!
ReplyDeleteMe too. I think she looks great, ruffles and everything.
DeleteI think Marie looks great and I like her ruffles more than Charlotte Casiraghi's shiny PRADA pyjama!
ReplyDeleteBut why so few pics from this event …… Paris Match shows many more ?
Dreadful! Marie really needs to hire a stylist.
