Heather and Jean, you are right. Very masculine for my taste. And the last picture: photoshop.- It looks like she's showing a room for state-visits than her sitting/drawing room, where the family spends time together? Very sterile.
I also like how we can see the background in the photos, and it isn't all blurred out like some people do (lookin at your Princess Madeleine and Duchess Catherine). Shows she is willing to let people get a peek at her home, even if it's just one room.
What??? These are the official photos for her 40th birthday? These are some of the worst photos I have ever seen, the light, the contrast, the colors are just so bad. Oh my goodness, who took them? Strange choice of clothing and hairstyle. Especially when you see the lightfilled new photos of Estelle and Oscar. Is this, what Victoria wants to be seen? Her eyes look empty here and her smile forced. She looks better in any random photoshot. Very strange. She can do better and she deserves better.
I know we all go over this subject time and again, but these photos reinforce that. The severity of this harsh pulled back hairstyle is so unflattering to Victoria's face. Look at photos of her from a few years back with her hair down or even up, but in a softer style. She looked lovely. She is the crown princess. Surely she has a hairdresser at her disposal for official appearances and photos like these. Also it is not even healthy for the hair and scalp to keep the hair pulled back so tightly like this all the time.
She makes herself look almost ugly with that hair style, she might as well be 70 instead of 40. Even in the photo of 2015 with the same jacket, she looks old.
These can't possibly be the official pictures to celebrate her 40th?? The outfit is matronly, dark and the skirt is way too short for the severe top. Hair and makeup are not good at all. She is lovely woman, but this outfit does not make her any favors.
I always think that the Crown Princess is at her best in leisure wear in nature, but that wouldn't be the right type of photo for this occasion, I guess - but then she is natural, clothes are cool and the hair is usually in a pony tail, it's then she looks at ease with herself!
I like the third photo, but all in all I prefer the earlier photos released to mark this milestone birthday.
In some ways these photos truly represent Victoria as she take her role as Crown Princess very seriously, very much in a business like manner. My problem with these photos is that they don't show Victoria's warmth as a person or as a wife and mother.
Victoria is not glamorous, however, she is beautiful in the true sense of the word and I don't think these photos reflect this.
Very severe and somber look. The earlier "birthday" photos were nicer.
ReplyDeleteJe suis d'accord avec vous.
DeleteWould love to see Princess Victoria with her hair down for just once

ReplyDeleteAgreed! First set of photos were perfect. Here she looks tired, not in the mood perhaps.

ReplyDeleteBeverly, yes. And quite often mentioned before, it is a pity indeed...

She looks manly. Let your hair down already, she needs to soften up.
ReplyDeleteshe looks more like a businesswoman than a crown princess....
ReplyDeleteExactly!

Very well said!
DeleteThese photos are no credit to taker. Poor lighting with deep shadows at face, ground not in control.
ReplyDeleteIch mag die schwedische Königsfamilie, aber diese Bilder gefallen mir leider nicht.
ReplyDeleteI agree with all things that have said about, and I' d add that the nice under blouse didn' t match too much with the beautiful jacket.
ReplyDeleteShe should stay with Erika Gerdemark as her photographer. Those images do not! do her any favor at all.
