King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain received Costa Rican President Luis Guillermo SolÃs and Ms. Mercedes Peñas Domingo for an official lunch at the Royal Palace on May 08, 2017 in Madrid. The Queen wore Carolina Herrera Dress - Pre Fall 2015 Collection |
Interesting. Not sure do I like it or not. That dress must have been much better IRL than in pic.
ReplyDeleteI like the colours and silhouette, but not the floral design. It isn´t clearly enough floral, and it isn´t abstract or genetic enough, it is kind of nothing. From afar it looks like a colossal ink stain or a serious case of mould growth. Sorry to say. Letizia is so lovely and manages to look good nevertheless, and I like Felipe´s matching tie.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about her earrings - too chunky, not matching the green of the dress well, and the gold is a mismatch because the accent colour in her outfit otherwise is the beige (light gray?) in her dress and the beige (light gray?) shoes.
Leti looks fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteThe print is unusual but I like it. Black shoes would have been better. Her hair is definitely getting too long now. The Costa Rican first lady has got a much nicer hairstyle.
ReplyDeleteFabulous dress on Letizia. Wherever she goes, she stands out with her elegance and carriage. An example to Sophia of Sweden -- you don't have to dress matronly in your royal position, but you have to dress appropriately for your station.
ReplyDeleteI like the style and the green and the flowers, hate the big black splodge in the middle. I like her earrings, make up and hair although personally I prefer her when she has a short bob. I like the shoes but not with the dress.
Meh
ReplyDeleteOn the model the proportions of the green and black are slightly different - and better than - the dress on Queen Letizia. That sleeve length doesn't flatter her and there is just too much of the dark red-black compared to the green. And the green on the model is livelier. The designer goofed on this one and I usually love her work.
ReplyDeleteI dont really like this pattern
ReplyDeleteThis is a rare mistake of Letizia through my eyes. Chunky earrings, the dress with those shoes and the "plushy" background of the room... All to much for my poor sight. She looks pale in all the "overload". Can't believe it is a Carolina Herrera design.
ReplyDeleteI really like this dress, it is departure from your regular floral, but in my opinion the best is the flattering silhouette, perfect length, and the sleeves perfectly appropriate for the event inside the palace. I also agree with the color choice of the shoes, black would have been too predictable, and a simple nude, too blah, so the very subtle pattern of these shoes are a win.
ReplyDeleteLove the blue color on Ms Domingo. Letis dress, a little to much going on so not a hit.
ReplyDeleteI like the green color of the dress, and the fit is OK, but those dark flowers are ugly, I don't even think Letizia feels good wearing it.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the fence about this. I don't like the black "splodge in the middle" [thanks, Franny!]. Maybe if the colours were switched and it was black with some green...?
ReplyDeletePerfect dress.... Hair amazing
