On May 4, 2017, Countess Sophie of Wessex visited the Abbey School in Reading and attended the events of 130th anniversary of establishment of The Abbey School. The Abbey School has been at the forefront of girls’ education since its foundation in 1887. The school has Church of England traditions, although it accepts girls of all faiths. |
This is a very nice look, excellent fit, fine tailoring, perfect length and appropriate for the occasion. Well done! It might have been fun to spark it up with a more colorful accessory: scarf, pin, clutch, earrings?
ReplyDeleteA very fresh, pure and young look. I think it´s lovely, and with 2 more cm length in the skirt it would have been perfect.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I like the moderate heels - such a good height. (I´m quite tired of the super-high heels worn by most royals these days.)
Very elegant!
ReplyDeleteWell dressed! (She should do the same good thing for her daughter). Clutch and shoes are boring. Maybe a red or pink scarf?
ReplyDeleteShe looks good - I like the suit and the colour. Maybe a little spark of contrasting colour would have been nice but overall, it works for me.
ReplyDeleteSophie looks good. But I pity the girls on the first picture for having to wear that uniform...Who combines those colours?
ReplyDeleteNice suit. I had one almost the same back in the 60s, although my skirt was shorter, lol. (My mother made it).
ReplyDeleteI like the retro/classic look on Sophie.
I did too. Mine was pink double knit. It was 1968 and my mother had taken a class on sewing with the new polyester double knit. My sister ended up wearing it to her wedding at the courthouse.
DeleteMine was cream wool. It was 1967!
DeleteNice memories!
Elegant lady in a beautifully tailored, well-fitting suit. A pleasure to see.
ReplyDeleteCream is such a lovely colour on Sophie. Compared to a few of her recent looks, this is by far one of the better ones !
ReplyDeleteI seem to be the only one keeping this too matron style. I get to my mind old hospital matrons at 60´s.
