Oh Mary has made up for her bland dress yesterday. WOW! I LOVE THIS! HER HAIR! SHE looks magnifique!
ReplyDeleteThey all look lovely... except Chantel is not a fav. I like it but it seems too boho for this dinner. Victoria ~ too dark
Sofia ~ again perhaps boho?
Stephanie ~ not bad but I do not like the material. Esp w that brown shawl
Maxima ~ lovely
MM ~ they love the blue LOL she looks nice. Looks like Haakon changed his jacket 🤣 removed the scarve
The rest are nice
Mette Marit's 10 points tonight! Beautiful. Mary a LOT better than last night, I like her dress. Stefanie got to borrow her grandma's old dress but saved face with nice makeup, hair and jewelry. Mathilde and Philippe is the cutest couple. And most of the rest did good. Actually I'm happy to see Marie and her dress fits her perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI'll add that Queen Sonja also did a LOT better tonight. Always good to get a second chance to prove you know how to dress for gala. ;)
ReplyDeleteALSO ~ anyone notice Haakon's newly shaved face? He apparently shaves it all off as part of the prior evenings entertainment 🤣😂
ReplyDelete🎉🎊 those Norwegians have some interesting party games 🇳🇴
Wow!
DeleteThanks for sharing! I wondered what would prompt this. I did a double take!
DeleteHaakon looks a few years younger now, ha ha!
DeleteI read in the newspapers. you can find pics on google before and after at the same event :D
DeleteI like Victoria and Mette-Marit's best and I do like picture of Beatrix and Mabel together.
ReplyDeleteIs Victoria's dress an old Acne dress or only similar? Her old floral Acne shoes way back when got me into my royal fashion addiction...so curious. I think everyone is lovely today!
ReplyDeleteSophie, Mabel and Mary have me smitten. But the jewels of Stephanie, Maxima and the birthday girl blow my mind to sparkly bits! I would have wine in hand if this were the weekend!
Yes it's her old acne dress. She wore it for the polar Price 2013.
DeleteMary and Victoria look sooo great! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteFrom the little I can see in the picture of Märta Louise and Sophie, it looks like Tatiana in the background and it looks like she is smashing tonight again. Hoping for better picture.
ReplyDeleteAs for Haakon I guess it was a bet he lost. Interesting. I want the story. :)
Stephanie and Sophie 😍😍
ReplyDeleteIt's always so much fun to see these events and what the ladies are wearing. I'm sorry they had to stand in the rain but most seem to not mind so much. The darker colors and patterns have done best in not showing water spots.
ReplyDeleteI think Mary's dress is my favorite. Very fresh looking. Stephanie's is my least favorite. It looks like it was made from a tablecloth. Points for creativity??
Haakon must have lost a bet and had to shave.
ReplyDeleteMarys dress - fabolous!
ReplyDeleteMary muy bonito. Sofía, Marta Luisa y Máxima también. Mi favorita Matilde de Bélgica, precioso vestido.
ReplyDeleteBest: Mathilde (love the photo with Philippe) and then Maxima; M-M; Victoria and Marie.
DeleteI don't like Mary's dress - too busy. Stephanie's dress is a bit frumpy and ill -fitting, but her hair and makeup are good.
Chantal - too boho for this event. Sofia - too fussy and lacy. Sophie - nothing special.
yes Mathilde is very very very beautiful and the dress is magnifique
DeleteTatiana is also very beautiful, nice dress , beautiful lady.
DeleteHaakon didn't loose a bet.
ReplyDeleteHe said that one day he was having a conversation with his mother and father. They made a comment to him saying that they thought he would look better without facial.
So in the middle of the dinner, Haakon secretly went and shaved his beard to surprise Harold and Sonja.
That's not the truth. Haakon had to shave of the beard since he should imitate his father in an act he, his kids, Märtha and her kids had made as part of the entertainment for the night. It was supposed to be very good says the rumour after the party.
DeleteOh, it's a pity: Stephanie of Luxembourg. Where does that outfit come from? A museum? Her Mother in law looks much better. Shame.
ReplyDeleteAnd that colourful Valentino-dress (CP Marie-Chantal?) - I would not wear it...
But: Maertha-Louise's fresh spring colours, Sophie "from the Windsors" :) and CP Mary of Denmark are looking phantastic.
Where is Desiree, the Lady with the freezing ni.....? Back home?
They locked her in Victoria Secret store w a credit card lol 🤣
DeleteOh dear, good one!!! :)
DeleteOmgawd @Diane and @Rainha! Reviewing the week's fun on the blog. Thanks for your humor. This has been a fantastic week in fashion-this is my favorite Martha Louise repeat dress btw=)
DeleteM Hall 🤣🤣🤣🤣😃😃 Humor is everything 😉
DeleteIndeed it has been a great week for fashion! Love all of our comments. Fun.
My favorite is Countess Sophie, I adore her look. I have always love Princess Tatiana and her style but this dress is too nridal for my taste, same for Princess Sofia. Stephanie looks georgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love Mary's dress. It is gorgeous and she is gorgeous at this event. Stephanie, oh dear, she was looking through grandma's trunk in the attic and came out with that dress maybe? But her jewels are wonderful! Queen Sonja's dress is gorgeous and the story behind it is wonderful. Mette-Marit has stepped up her fashion with this beautiful blue dress. At least she is away from those Little House on the Prairie prints and ruffles. Victoria is okay, but nothing spectacular. Tatiana's dress is too bridal looking. I think Sophie, Countess of Wessex, silver dress is beautiful on her. Sofia looks so pretty in her white tiered gown. A great maternity look on her. Maxima's remake of her dress is wonderful. A big improvement over the original top. M-C certainly has a colorful dress but it is a little too busy for me. Queen Silvia is probably very jealous of Queen Mathilde's blue sparkly dress. It is just the sort of gown Silvia would wear. So bottom line Mary is my winner with Maxima taking second place, and Queen Sonja takes third. Now who have I left out????
ReplyDeleteNot so many WOW-dresses as yesterday's evening!
ReplyDeleteStephanie looks like an old lady, not very suitable dress to her.
Marie boring, it looks like a shinny night gown, but she must love it, she has worn it again and again ………
Best 4 x M: MM, Maxima, Mathilde and Mary.
Stephanie looks smashing to me tonight. Watered aqua is a great color on her and the Luxembourg aquamarine set is gorgeous. Great makeup and a sophisticated yet easy updo. Guillaume also looks much better--good haircut and his skin is not so red.
ReplyDeleteI like them all but Marie Chantal´s dress. Best I keep Sonja, Mette Marit, Victoria, Mary, Mathilde, Maxima (big brooch is too much) and Stephanie. I think Stephanie´s dress looks fresh and is good color to her.
ReplyDeleteMy favourites are Mathilde, Maxima and Maertha Louise.
ReplyDeleteMy worst: Marie Chantal, Sophia Sweden, Victoria and Mary.
The others are more or less ok but boring.
Best jewels: Stephanie's aquamarines.
My favorites: Queen Maxima (wow), Crown Princess Mary (very pretty floral dress), Princess Märtha Louise and Sophie of Wessex.
ReplyDeletePleasant surprise: Grand Duchess Maria Teresa in green.
Dissapointing: both Swedish princesses, Princess Tatiana of Greece.
Biggest flop: Marie Chantal.
Sofia looks beautiful! . Mathilde and Mette Mary both look great also. Maxima looks much better today and also Marie. I don't care for Victoria and Mary's dresses. The rest pretty blah.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone please tell me why Felipe and Letizia do not attend these functions. I was surprised when they attended Wilhelms 50th last week and they are the only guests we saw in their outfits. It all seems strange.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they just had something else or do not know Harald and Sonja so well. But I would have thought Queen Sofia, King Albert and Queen Paola would have been there, they are about the same age.
DeleteQueen Sofia and King Juan Carlos were there, did not see that picture before. I think that couple was more obvious as guests than Felipe and Letizia from Spain.
Delete@Maree, I don't think they are throwing any shade. The Queen had an event on the 11th. They looked amazing last week. I love the surprise of Letizia's tiara hair. I hope she gives us the wavy bob with a tiara some day!
DeleteThe picture of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia has now been removed. I wonder why?
DeleteI enjoyed seeing them together again. For me they are still the number one King and Queen of Spain (that is only my feelings of course).
Maxima, Mary and Mathilde look stunning! Mathilde's hair and makeup is sublime, pure perfection. I wish she would wear her hair like this more often.
ReplyDeletePrincess Beatrix and Mabel are gorgeous and warm my heart and make me smile. Two of my favourite Royals.
As much as I admire Crown Princess Victoria, sadly this is not one of her best looks, and I have to say the same of Sofia too, her gown looks very summery and a bit too boho.
Marie looks as bland as usual, no surprise there. I am surprised that Sophie is looking a little bland, but she has been a little off (fashion wise) of late and not dressing to her usual standard in my opinion.
Maria Teresa looks lovely, gorgeous colour. I really like Stephanie's outfit, the colour is beautiful on Stephanie and her choice of jewellery - stunning. Not fond of the fur stole though.
Mette-Marit gown in beautiful. I love the colour and the style of the gown suits MM. I don't however, like the way MM has styled her hair, I think it might have looked nicer worn up, rather than down.
Märtha Louise's gown is pretty, but she looks cold.
Tatiana's dress is not my cup of tea, but none are as bad as Marie Chantal's gown, which can only be described as horrid!
Queen Sonja of course looks beautiful!
I agree with most of it. Queen Sonja is my favorite this evening though. I wish to see a better picture of her beautiful dress that has such a special story. I also miss pictures of the Queens from Denmark, Greece and Sweden.
DeleteIt's WOW. TOTAL WOW. It's good Marie joined today. I like everything except Marie Chantal's. Countess of Wessex and Martha Louise look like sisters. It's complete change in MM and Stephanie look. Gorgeous everyone.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! Beautiful dresses, my favs are Sophie, Martha Louise and Mabel. I also like Victorias dress, it looks youthful with the sidesplit while Stephanie is uninspired and matronly again :-((
ReplyDeleteThe queens look queenly and elegant ;-)). Don't like the Boho style dresses and although it is a beautiful dress I can't warm up with Mary's Erdem dress.
MM's dress is okay, at least it fits, but I can't find anything special in this high necked dark blue lace dress. Her hair does not look natural, bleached to death, straight on top with fluffy girlish princess curls on the side. No!
What @Beth said!
DeleteAll the ladies looked lovely, but for me, Sophie Wessex Maxima and Mathilde tipped it to the post.
ReplyDeleteWHO IS THAT LADY IN PURPLE?? FIRST PICUTRE.
ReplyDeleteShe is the prime minister of norway, Erna Solberg:)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could ask her where she got her dress - not that I like it but it sure would fit me and my 220 pounds

ReplyDeleteShe is the Prime minister of Norway, Erna Solberg
ReplyDeleteFor me it's Mathilde all the way. Perfect hair, make-up, sublime dress. The worst, of course, pretentious Marie-Chantal. Tatiana's dress looks like a bridal gown or a very fancy night gown except it's too long for a nightgown. All the rest, from okay to blah to very blah.
ReplyDeleteThe Party goes on...my favourites are:
ReplyDeleteQueen Sonja - very becoming dress (I like the collar & colour) and a sassy hairdo, she looks so young!
Princesses Beatrix & Mabel - they look fine but more important, I like the joie de vivre!
Queens Mathilde & Maxima - perfect fitting and very becoming dresses (Maxima's seems familiar)- Mathilde should stay with this hairstyle everyday.
CP's Victoria & Mary - China Girl is singin' in the rain & Snow White meets Primavera
Sofia of Sweden - nice maternity look
Sophie Wessex - touch of Jacki O. (mind the upper arms!)
Märtha Louise - Harlequin and a free Spirit (I think)
GD Maria Teresa - elegant as always and look what one can do with shorter hair, I really love that! And she does not need an animal to keep her warm.
Bridal, Boho and Blue with Yellow hair, I don't like that.
But after this celebration marathon I can say, that I loved to watch the photos (thank you Hellen) and the royals (the real ones that is) all looked more or less great for the numerous locations. Well done. What is next - CP Victorias 40th?
Let's hope we see a big party one of these days! Probably not until she's queen but I would love the turnout amd tiaras!!!
DeleteIs Victoria expecting a baby?
ReplyDeleteNo! Give her a break, she has given birth twice and had a belly already after Estelle. In this photo she is also bending her back.
DeleteBelas rainhas e princesas :). Bonitas fotografias. Vestidos lindíssimos :))
ReplyDeleteOs meus preferidos: rainhas: Matilde, Máxima, Sonja e Sílvia. Princesas: Marta Luísa,Tatiana,Sofia,Mary e Vitória
who know the shoes of princess tatiana from
ReplyDeletePrincess Marie of Denmark looks better than all of them
