ReplyDeleteNot everyone can pull off this kind of style but Maxima can and she looks great. She has very strong presence and she makes me smile. Love her hair styled like this.

ReplyDeleteWho made that disastrous mess of feathers, stripes and fabric all intertwined together supposing to resemble a dress? If I ever figure out what designer this is from I vow that I will write him a scathing e-mail. Shame on him/her for making this dress and double shame for selling it to Maxima.
Come on...it was just a dress...if maxima likes it why should be the designer ashamed? It is like when someone buys an abstract picture from an artist: maybe we dont understand it but if the Buyer does....i do like the dress any way.

DeleteNothing in this dress makes any sense, and yet I can't tear my eyes away. I think it looks happy, just like if you were to give a child a drawing pad and that is what you get. Only MΓ‘xima can do these things, she looks so happy and confident. Social media can be devastating, and she just doesn't care if the dress is inappropriate for the time and event, if the shoes are too high, if the jewels are too many, Kudos for MΓ‘xima!! By the way I do love the shoes, I can picture them with a simple black dress with a mid calf flared hem and a print bag in black and yellow, and voilΓ‘! Now I am going to partake in a cocktail as well.

ReplyDeleteYou all have me laughing. The thing with Maxima is that she is just such a gigantic woman,feet and all, she needs to dress down to minimize he stature. Simple black would look great as she is a very pretty woman.

DeleteShe is, and, has always been over the top. Sometimes circus style. However, the Dutch people seem to like her and that is all that counts.
ReplyDeleteOverall, this is not a successful look. But I think that the main idea of the dress (the silver and gold stripes) have true potential. I don´t even mind that she opted for golden shoes with this as it makes sense (I do however mind those ghastly plastic inserts, and also they don´t look especially confortable). Anyway, the dress is clearly not suited for the occasion being too sassy (for a daytime event) and inappropriately sleeveless (for event and season). And the fit across her chest flattens her bust. The biggest problem though are those feathery bits, there´s no explanation and no excuse. If now those bits had been removed and the skirt design altered to a A-line, I think the dress had been nice. And combined with a nice jacket even suitable for a daytime event.
