Queen Letizia of Spain attended the El Barco De Vapor and Gran Angular youth and children's literature awards ceremony held at the Royal Mail House on April 18, 2017 in Madrid, Spain. (The 'Barco de Vapor' awards are among the most important prizes in Spanish youth and children's literature) |
I like the concept but the blouse looks a bit cheap when you look closer. I think it´s both the material (that makes me think up-cycled bed linen) and the execution (that makes me think amateur). If it had been a bit more refined I would like this a lot. The silhouette is great, and the black-and-white combo is timelessy chic.
ReplyDeleteI second every word of yours.
DeleteI like the concept (I don't find it inappropriate at all like some commenters below) but the blouse's material and execution just don't rise to the goal.
The blouse ist from Ugo Boss, the trousers are from Uterqüe and the white sandals are from Magrit. All the pieces are affordable options for professional women but in no way cheap looking.
DeleteI dont know what to think about the blouse but the trousers are nice and classic.
ReplyDeleteSa blouse (top) est totalement deplacee ici
ReplyDeleteThis off-the-shoulder blouse is really inappropriate for a daytime and youth themed event. Odd choice for Letizia.
ReplyDeleteThe event started at 19.30, I wouldn't call this daytime. Only adults were present and anyway the blouse was not indecent at all. You are reacting as if she'd worn a bikini.
DeleteCalm down! I did not say it was indecent, did I? I said inappropriate and I stand by that - whether day or evening, for that matter.
DeleteShe dresses beautifully 99.9% of the time. I think this belongs in the other 0.1%. Sadly.
Although I mostly admire Letizia for her sophisticated sense of style (hair, jewels, fashion and so on): this one looks a little bit like "And later we'll have cocktail-time, Babe!" Also the proportions shoulder/hips... Well. The ladies next to her thought possibly: "Oh dear, what should we wear today, standing next to our Queen?" And they choosed carefully to avoid any mistake.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Letizia is one of my favourites. :)
>>And they choosed carefully<<<.....and they chose with success. One of the rare oaccasions where the participants look better than Letizia. I especially like the dress of the lady on her right, black with small white pattern. They all look well groomed, the gentelemen too. Letitzia looks surprisingly cheap here. But I still want her legs when it comes to trousers ;-))
DeleteAgree, Beth. I like that black/white dress.
DeleteThis was a surprising miss for Letizia. If it was a mere mortal I would have thought she misunderstood the nature of the event.
Agree Rainha & Beth! I can't put my finger on where it all goes wrong but you both did a great job! I'm a fan of the Queen's edgier looks, hit or miss!
DeleteIts young and sexy look. Love her hair styled like this.
ReplyDeleteOui la tenue lui va bien Mais c'est une tenue de starlette.les autres princesses de son âge ne portent jamais ce genre de corsage pendant une cérémonie officielle.
ReplyDeleteI like how Letezia at least tries to keep up with the latest trends. The off shoulder/bardot shirts are very in style at the moment but I don't think this looks works for her. If the blouse had of been more fitted to her body and not so baggy looking I think it would have looked better.
ReplyDeleteStill looking way better than the most of you will be..really..
ReplyDeleteShow us your pic, 1304! Oh common'...
DeleteIt's totally inappropriate and vulgar. Reminded me of her pants at Easter Sunday.
DeleteI attended easter Mass in my Parish Church in Barcelona and most ladies and young girls wore pants. Does that mean that we were all inappropriate an vulgar? Each country has its customs an in Spain it would be considered ridiculous to wear a hat as those sported by the british royal ladies. Thad doesn't mean they are ridiculous, because in their country wearing those contraptions perched on the head is considered to be normal. When in Rome, do as the romans do.
DeleteDear Sakurahime, when I mentioned the pants I meant the super tight legging pants which for me was inappropriate & vulgar for an Easter Sunday mass.
Delete¿A quién pretendes engañar escudándote ahora en los legging? Has dicho que ESTO (la blusa) es vulgar e inapropiado y has puesto punto y aparte. ¿Nos tomas por bobas?
DeleteI wonder why she occasionally wants to look like a Barbie doll. She is the queen of all Spanish people and should wear clothes that are appropriate for her job. The clothes can still be stylish and modern.
ReplyDeleteModern, daring, I like it, though the top really doesn't perfectly fit Letizia.
ReplyDeleteShe looks good from afar. Up close you can see that the cloth used for the top is not that good. A bit thick and wrinkly. It would look good if it is fitted to her body.
ReplyDeleteI am not thrilled but not rolling my eyes here. I too agree w others that it is cute look but something about the blouse looks like ... cheaply made?
ReplyDeleteI find this Bardot-style blouse very original because of the long-sleeves with button barrel cuffs. It is the Hugo Boss “Bagiana” Stretch Cotton Carmen Blouse, made from stretch cotton.
ReplyDeleteHere it’s difficult to see but she was wearing metallic accessories, a clutch and a pair of strappy sandals from Magrit made of silver metallic leather. And large diamond earrings.
I am quite sure Queen Letizia never leaves nothing to chance, every detail is thought, she knows what she is doing when she adopts edgier styles for this annual ceremony. The most important thing is she has her own style and she looks really happy.
And I very much like the outfit of the lady in red on her side. Very elegant.
I think she looks beautiful, love her hair. But more like a movie star than a queen.
ReplyDeleteTous les styles vont à cette belle Reine
