That salmon red dress is very becoming to her.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I can see ~ I like the color. She needs a pop of color on her face I think. Need another picture to see the dress.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I see, this dress is again too tight and one size too small. You can see this, because the tuck of the top sits not in the right place. And I also don't think that this is a good color on her, color of the dress and her skin, face, arms, legs, all is merging into one big lobster sea. Actually I think this color is not good on anybody :-((
ReplyDeleteI must be color blind. I thought this was more pinky coral over pinky red ?
DeleteI should zoom on my laptop.
Coral, lobster, salmon.....whatever you call it, I am not a fan of it. Maybe just me ;-))
DeleteBut I must say anyway, I just don't get it why everybody keeps on saying how good Mette Marit looks in pastell colors. I don't think so at all, I think she looks better in strong colors, red, dark blue, dark green. She has the body figure of a maturing woman (in her best way, of course, I think women in their forties look fantastic), she should stay away from girlish hairstyle and pastell colors. But again, maybe it's just me.
I agree with Beth that the fitting is not quite right - arms too tight, bust pleats too high, also it´s puckering and pulling around the arms/shoulders. I also agree that this colour is difficult to wear, for almost anyone, and I think that it probably looks best on (very) dark skin. For Mette-Marit it´s certainly not the ideal colour, and it´s hard to tell what would be a good colour for her because she keeps messing with her natural colouring by insisting on this platinum blond hair dye. If platinum blonde was her natural hair colour, I´d say blue tones would be good (including pastel blue), soft purple, green, navy, white. For her skin colour (her natural colouring), those colours are mostly wrong, and indeed, she´d better go for stronger colours like red, burgundy, dark green, royal blue etc. But despite of all this, I´m still happy with her dress because: a) it´s a no-frills look, sleek and simple; and b) it IS a colour after all, which feels almost refreshing given her endless parade of blacks and whites.
Delete@Vanessa, and c) no black tights ;-)))
DeleteBeth; Coral red is one of my favorite colors. ;-)
DeleteThe dress fit is an improvement over recent outfits, still a little form-fitting, but more kind to her age. I, too, think she does better in deeper shades, especially blue. A turquoise would be excellent, plus some bling, and maybe some pattern.
ReplyDeleteI love this coral-pink color and think it looks lovely with M-M's skin tone. My only quibble is with her overly bleached hair--it is too harsh and fake-looking.
ReplyDeleteShe needs a good fitting bra!!
ReplyDeleteI like the colour but the fit is still not right.
ReplyDeleteShe looks good. I think with her blond hair she looks very Norwegian to me.
ReplyDeleteInterestingly Beth I kind of agree with you she looks better in stronger colours and the fit, though better than her outfits 2-3 months ago, is definitely a bit too tight. However I think this is a lovely colour and looks great on MM, even though this light coral looks the best with tanned skin.
ReplyDeleteCoral can be bland, but married up with contrast accessories, maybe mint green, can make an outfit 'pop'. Agree with @Diane a splash of colour on the face would have helped too.
ReplyDeleteLovely colour on MM.
