  2. Well.. apparently the dress is supposed to somehow be reflective of a kimono? Or so I have read in multiple places. I get where she was going. I like it except for the hanging part in the front 😑 the sleeves are fine. And of course she looks elegant no matter what!

    1. She looks lovely and elegant but I also don't understand the hanging bit. The floral part is meant to show cherry blossoms, which is a charming reference to Japan.

  4. The dark velvet and the hairstyle are lovely on Letizia! But they both look a little bit frozen on that occasion, so maybe there is a reason why?
The dress of Mrs. Akie looks like, well... Oh, forget it.

  5. Personally, this is by far one of my favorite outfits in a long time, Armani Prive 2011, Shown originally in the runway with pants, created in velvet which is always a win, and with a gode ruffle and sleeves in silk with a print of cherry blossoms in honor of the host country. I absolutely love the shoulders, a bit retro and superbly original.
Letizia is heavily criticized in some spanish blogs because she doesn't use many jewels, you will rarely see her with necklaces, or brazaletes, and she stopped wearing rings years ago, but this time she really went into the Royal Coffer and pull out those magnificent earrings

  6. Not a fan of the dress however, Letizia looks beautiful, her makeup, hair and jewellery are impeccable.

  7. La reine a " fait dans le velours " pour ce voyage .Delicate attention aux cerisiers en fleur sur les manches.

  9. The saying 'less is more' springs to mind with this dress. The silk sleeves are lovely, but would have left the drape ! But as always hair and make up are gorgeous !
