Yes. Wear the rust pants if you must but style it correctly- no tie and collar unbuttoned. She is looking casual and appropriate for her role. Hay in your wedges or sandals are the pits!

DeleteFor Stéphanie I would have chosen something more country style like for this farm visit, a slim jeans,boots, shirt, like we see it often on Catherine when she does outdoor engagements. But as she actually looks better here then she often does, I can live with it. It is Guillaumes gentelmen's outfitter I want to have a serious talk with.
At least Maxima is not standing in hay w a cow meters away where any time the cow could 🙂💩

ReplyDeleteThe dress is ok, at least by her standard. But the hairdo (although the hair looks neat and groomed) does nothing for her. She definitely needs a modern - even a bit avantgarde - cut in chin length in order to spice her up a little bit.

ReplyDeleteSome of you don't know what a farm is obviously. This isn't an actual farm. It is an exhibition of farm stuff: produce, animals, methods of farming, etc. It obviously has an area where the farm animals are on exhibition for visitors, thus the hay on the ground, but it is NOT an actual farmyard!
ReplyDeleteActually I think she looks quite nice. A lovely change from her usual black pants. She has quite a nice figure but she hides it with those long jackets and wide pants. He looks like he has gained weight. I still have trouble seeing them as the Grand Duke and Duchess in time. His parents are always so appropriately dressed and regal looking.
ReplyDeleteI agree Stephanie looks ok this time. I would have left the necklace at home but I'd have put on a pair of fitting jeans with a nice blouse to begin with so if she chose otherwise this is a good second best choice. And I like her wedges which are the perfect pair of shoes for this kind of event.

Just a quick sidenote, this is indeed an exhibition, a farming fair organized in the middle of the capital so I don't think wellies and dungarees would have been the good choice for Stephanie. She's well groomed and rather appropriately dressed for the event.
