Yesterday, on March 29, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain attend a funeral chapel for Alicia de Borbon Parma, Duchess of Calabria at La Paz morgue in Madrid. Alicia was Duchess of Calabria through her marriage to Infante Alfonso, Duke of Calabria. She bore the title of Infanta of Spain from 1936, and took part in some of the activities that the Spanish Royal Family organises. She was born in Vienna and died on March 28, 2017 (aged 99) in Madrid. |
Descanse en paz la Infanta Alicia. Con ella desaparece una época.
ReplyDeleteLetizia es más bella cuanto más sencilla.
Estoy totalmente de acuerdo.
DeleteLetizia wears simple black dress, black stockings, high heels...and she looks effortlessly elegant and chic. Also like her hair styled like this (this hairstyle makes her look very young).
ReplyDeleteIndeed a very flattering outfit. She should get that dress in every colour of the rainbow, it is so effortlessly chic and versatile, it would work for almost every occasion and season.
ReplyDeleteSo elegant.
ReplyDeleteSo very simple, yet so elegant.
ReplyDeleteLetizia is one of the hardest working Royals. She is also one of the most beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely true!
DeleteThis is the best and elegant funeral style I have ever seen. Queen Letizia taste is priceless. Her sense of style proves you don't need the fancy outfit or accessories to show you have taste....
ReplyDeleteA simple classic black dress can only look so elegant, when it has a perfect cut.
ReplyDeleteI love the stockings, I think they are not black but have a moccha undertone, this makes them look so elegant.
I wonder where are all the people complaining at guests not sad enough at Princess Benedikte's husband's funeral? I guess there are double standards for them, depending on the royals attending.
ReplyDeleteNo showtime here for hats or new coats and Bla bla... That's it. A great Queen and her King. Maybe this family is just full of thanks and good memories and that they had her for a happy, nearly 100 years! lifetime which now ended peacefully. Just Humans... And no one can look in to the souls. Whereever and on whatever occasion...
DeleteI understand that she lived for almost a hundred years and they are happy. And death like this should be celebrated not because she died but because she lived for a very long time. It's just that some people are quick to judge 'depending' who the royal is. I don't have anything bad against the King and Queen but they are still far from greatness, the road is still long for them. And I wish them well.
DeleteHi Mimi, your last sentence is very right. I guess they try their best in Spain of these days. We'll see what the future brings...
DeleteI agree, Beth. And I love her earrings too.
ReplyDeleteElegant...
ReplyDeleteI agree with Beth, there is something about the color the stockings that makes them look very attractive, the cut and length of the dress is impeccable, and those Chanel earrings I want for myself. Worth noting that she was wearing an over the shoulder purse rather than the usual clutch, obviously because to convey that their presence was due to family ties rather than official business.
