  2. MM what do you have on? 😒
The queen's royal blue dress is amazing. Beautiful color on her. 😍

    1. Queen Sonja looks amazing in her beautiful blue dress. Elegant and appropriate for the gala dinner. I would like to have a closer look of the dress and the beautiful tiara.

    2. Ya know, after seeing MM's dress in more than just the first picture, I think it's kind of cool...she has courage, I'll tell ya! I think she carried it off.

    3. Kelly, I agree. It's daring and I like it.

  3. Omg. What was MM thinking?
The queen looks elegant. As usual.
And finally the First Lady of Iceland is dressed appropriately!
And I love Princess Astrid - she always pulls out all the stops!!

    2. I love Princess Astrid too. My absolute favourite among the Norvegian royals.

    3. Very nice to see that the royal princess Astrid is participating. I have always admired her personality and behavior.

    4. Just look at how Princess Astrid's coat is the perfect length to skim the ground! Meanwhile MM's dress is just dragging along.

  4. This really does look like a tablecloth or curtain!

  5. Ok in all seriousness, what the hell is going on with MM?!?
Does she really not realize how bad she looks, does she not care? Is this some kind of big middle finger to the Norwegian royal family?
What is going on with her?
This honestly just doesn't make any sense anymore. Who's making these awful clothes for her?
Why is no one saying "that really does not look good on you, maybe try something else". I'm seriously side eyeing Haakon, he should be able to have an honest conversation with his wife.
It's like watching a horrible train wreck.

    1. @ Chelsea, I am asking myself the same questions for a long time now, who on earth is selling this to her?? She must buy it somewhere, directly at the designer or in a good shop, that sells expensive brands and evening gowns. There is usually a fitting before you buy. When a famous client steps in, there is normally the designer or the shop owner themselves there to serve their client and to advice her on the best size, cut and color. They would do everything to make their client look good. At least that's what you would think.

So, this stays a mystery to me. Where does she buy? Who sells that to her? Same for the hair. You would think before a gala event, she would have a hairstylist come in. Or does she do hair and makeup herself and than just tuck a tiara on top, no matter what? it looks like it.

Does she not have one single good lady friend who would talk openly to her? And Haakon? Does he not see it, that his wife wears so often the wrong clothes, or he does not care, which would be strange in his position or he is blindly in love and would never raise a word against her? This seems all so strange and is beyond my own life experience. I start to get embarrassing feelings about all that and somehow don't want to look or comment on pictures from the norwegian royal family anymore.

I wonder how is the reception of the royal family in norwegian media, especially how are Haakon and Mette-Marit looked at. Does enybody know this?

    1. I agree! Maybe a nice dress for a summer party, but not for a gala dinner at the castle. It is nice to see her smile though!

    2. I find picture 3 rather cute though. What a handsome and dashing couple they are!

  9. MM hair is no tiarahair...

  10. MM a complete desaster again. The dress too ugly for words and the hairstyle isn't suitable for a tiara.

  11. O.K., this is going to be mean: maybe it`s some kind of expression of a midlife crisis - girlish hair, girlish dress (something a teenager would have worn in the seventies). This being said, MM somehow still pulls it off...

  12. MM doesn't have a traditional sense of fashion in my opinion, it tends to be a little bohemian, but this gown isn't even bohemian, it is horrible. I don't like the colours, the material or the style.

This material would probably work as a summer frock for a young woman or a girl but not a middle aged women/Crown Princess at a Tiara event.

  13. Oh my, she s wearing a curtain!

  14. I don´t know. It´s not a terrible dress as in shocking or inappropriate - it´s just so lame. And so wrong for her. This dress gives me three different vibes: girlish, summer, nighty (or bed linen?) - non of which are what she should be after to look like. If the dress had an interesting neckline (to make it less girly) and a proper fit (to make it less nighty-like), or a different colour (to make it less summer-y)... Then maybe? I don´t mind the silhouette, or the stripes, not even the yellow colour as such, but please Mette-Marit - you are the crown princess of your country! You are in your fourties! This is one of the most formal occasions to attend! You have the ressources to choose almost anything (and/or get help to do so). And you come up with this???? I´m puzzled.

    1. 'Hahaha' @ Vanessa, yes, if this dress had another cut, another size and another color, it could work....sorry, but this made me laugh, yes, if it was another dress, it could have worked *Lol*

    1. I enlarged the photo, then made it normal size again and can't tell what they are. I should probably be wearing my glasses. I go from thinking like ballet flat to a sort of saddle shoe but I could be wrong on both counts.

Muy bien vestida la princesa Astrid, dama encantadora y también Sonja. M-M va horrorosa, es un caso perdido.

    1. No it looks more like curtains of summer cottage. Maybe they needed new curtains and MM invented this desperate dress to get rid of old ones. Untidy hair increases the failure of this appearance.

I read a most excellent description of MMs dress.

Looks like a representation of an anemic bumblebee 🐝🐝🐝😂😂😂

    Perfect ....hilarious

  23. I can't tear my eyes away from this dress.... and I can see Charlotte of Monaco wearing this outfit and somehow making it trendy, in MM is just bad, it does not go with her figure, coloring , age and hair style. Also a tiara wit this dress?? Impossible!!!
