On February 13, 2017, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit visited the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration and the Immigration Appeals Board in Oslo. The UDI is responsible for processing applications from foreign nationals who wish to live in Norway. UNE is an independent quasi-judicial Appeals Board that handles appeals by UDI pursuant to the Immigration Act. |
That is not a suitable skirt for day-time business. The delicate fabric with the heavy opaque hose is a brutal mis-match. And why the deep black hose with much brighter skirts all the time? I don´t get it. Also, her hair style is ok for a university student, but not for a crown princess. Same goes for the way she carries her papers - ok for a student, but can´t the crown princess make use of some of her horrendously pricey bags to carry her stuff?
ReplyDeleteOn a more general note, I hope the mid-calf length skirt is a short-lived trend as it flatters hardly anyone.
PS. Haakon - go a step closer to shake someone´s hand. Don´t make your host lean in to be able to reach you.
Does MM not own any wool or knit dresses, skirts that she can wear when it's cold? If she doesn't then she needs to go buy a few. That outfit is horribly mismatched. What's going on with a few of these royal ladies lately? It looks like they've gotten dressed in the dark.
ReplyDeleteI agree!
DeleteUnfortunately nothing to like here. Colour of the skirt is drab and chiffon is not for daytime events, like Vanessa wrote. Perhaps a straight skirt Made of a warm but elegant fabric in the red of the belt would have looked lovely. And I will never understand while she doesn't opt for nice black boots during the cold Norvegian winter instead of these opaque hoses.
ReplyDeleteLast but not least, she is a bit too busty for the big lapels of the jacket.
Forgot about the hair: schoolgirl style is not appropriate for a middle-aged royal lady on duty and she'd better give up that platinum blonde.
ReplyDeleteAgree with both Vanessa and Chelsea. Remember when she wore this jacket with a pale lace skirt on a visit to a library? She's certainly consistent, sadly. This look is not at all suitable for daytime, and probably not anytime!
ReplyDeleteAnd her hair is so unkempt. Not the look for a future queen.
Gloups... Sólo se me ocurre una palabra: espantoso.
ReplyDeleteDid you hear that? Listen 👂👂👂
ReplyDeleteThat was me banging my head on my desk and grabbing for anything sharp 😒😨
Why? Why? Tell me why?
Terrible! Terrible! Catastrophe
Perhaps she and Stephanie of Luxemburg are competing for the title "worst dressed royal ever"?
DeleteHahahaha I'm dying laughing Diane! I wish I could tell you why, but unfortunately I don't have a reason to explain this. This is one those unexplained mysteries that we may never know the answer to.
DeleteThose two certainly give us something to discuss!
DeleteIt's interesting that there are many blogs where intelligent people are making informed assessments of these women's clothes and appearance but they, with all the resources available to them, either don't get or won't take similar advice.
Well, perhaps this is Mette-Marits way to try to attain immortality?
Delete😒😢😢😢
DeleteDisaster, absolute disaster! That is a Summer evening skirt, total mismatch with the opaque hose. Complete disaster. I also agree with Vanessa wrt the holding the papers in her hands - MM has horrendously expensive handbags, she should carry her papers in these handbags. She reminds me of myself 17 year old running late to classes and carrying my appointments in my hands. She is a Crown Princess, she should act the part, be polished and elegant
ReplyDeleteShe must have been a true fan of Sex and City, these clothes are Carrie Bradshaw. Although with bad succeed.
ReplyDeleteWell, Haakon looks very nice.
ReplyDeleteIt is typical Mette, and I really like it.:) Not an average princess style.
ReplyDeleteLovely jacket. Looked very nice when worn previously, although I don't like the skirts the jacket is teamed with.
